Set in a 19th-century pub just a 10-minute drive from Dorchester town center, The Black Dog Inn has an outdoor children’s playground. The entire place was great. The family room we booked for 3 was actually 2 rooms, very spacious, very clean, the hotel is nice, breakfast was great, the staff was lovely and the place has a terrace which is also amazing. It also wasn't very pricey for the level of comfort and inclusions in the booking.
The pubs were very friendly an served good food, they had local walks but we wanted to do the Golden Cap which was lovely, Stoke Abbot was another which needed more signs, as we took a long way round, it was a circular walk from a pub called The New Inn , we had lunch there after which was an old but again lovely people an dog accepting .
Louisa, our host was very welcoming, providing us with a lot of anecdotal recommendations about where to go and what to see. Oh, and a very nice breakfast! The B & B at Broadmayne is well sited for site seeing in the local area. Village pub, the Black Dog, has a good restaurant, and the New Inn just outside the village is even better.
The black dog is friendly, cosy, has great food, superb B&B in a good location to sight see the Jurassic coast line and the near by Teddy Bear museum, the Dinisaur museum and Kingston Maurward place. Plus a good stopping point for traveling down or up from Cornwall and Devon.
Broadmayne is a small quiet village in Dorset In easy driving distance to many lots of places of interest. Weymouth, Dorchester, Durdle dor, Lulworth, Monkey World an lots more. The Black Dog pub is the only one in the village, offering a good standard of bed and breakfast.
Spacious and comfortable and like home from home, major supermarkets only 3 miles away and easy to get to. Welcome pack was a nice touch to get you started. Great place to stay for our reason to be in the area.
We stayed there so we could get to Monkey World easily and quickly. It was also close to Lulworth Cove which we visited many years ago, it was good to revisit and in fact we drove out to there both evenings that we were there. The Countryman Inn was a lovely pub to eat in, friendly, helpful staff and a very good steak pie and ham, egg and chips
