Within 7.5 mi of Canterbury Cathedral and 11 mi of University of Kent, The Hideaway features free WiFi and a garden. With stylish, space saving and contemporary. Comfortable bed with smart TV. Tea, coffee, milk and water provided. Bonus for us, is that is dog friendly.
Lime Tree Cottage Bed & Breakfast is located in Herne, 5.6 mi from Canterbury. The rooms are fitted with a flat-screen TV with satellite channels. Certain units have a seating area where you can... Very homely and good straight up food and service
The Westgrange House Bed & Breakfast offers free Wi-Fi and free private parking, and features rooms with attached bathroom overlooking the Kentish countryside. The breakfast was a good hearty English breakfast. Margaret was an excellent host and was very flexible with arranging pickup of the keys and when breakfast was served. I had the option of a room with a bath or shower on arrival. Very quite and easy to get to on the bus from Herne Bay.
The staff were really lovely and I felt valued as a guest. It is an old building and the rooms are kept sympathetic to the age of the building. It may be more difficult for elderly visitors to negotiate the stairs to the rooms. Disappointed about the lack of room tea and coffee facilities but this was related to the prevention of spreading Covid. Stayed two days and thoroughly enjoyed the break although must admit the weather was brilliant.
We had such a warm welcome. Very comfortable place to unwind and relax. Every little detail was thought of , we felt like special guests and that they had time for us. Lovely room overlooking the river...beautiful. Historic building which had been displayed to its best potential. We didn't bother looking elsewhere for food as it was great. Our only downside was we only had one night, definitely a return visit.
The village is quiet with not many shops, restaurants or facilities. It stands on a very busy railway mainline and trains are roaring through the village every few minutes. The Grove Ferry Inn is pleasant enough but needs a complete overhaul inside and out to get the best out of the facilities on offer. Could be a very popular Inn once updated and attention to details taken into consideration.
The are is nicce and peaceful, I live and work in London, beautiful part of Kent that I have been visiting for over 45 years :-) Food in the Grove Ferry Inn was well cooked and very tasty, we were a little worried as some of the reveiws weren't great but everything was fine.
A beautiful rural location by the river makes this an ideal get away. A peaceful area within easy reach of larger towns. Food at the on-site pub was delicious. Surroundings were ideal for exploring. The animals are a great addition to keep young children amused.
The rooms need updating, and soundproofing for modesty? Also entrance to guestrooms looks more entrance to a garage back room than upstairs accommation area! Nice feel to wholeplace just needed that added touch to the rooms, letus know when complete as we would love to sample when finished! Good luck with your venture.
