Barnsley House, The Fleece at Cirencester, and The Stump got great room view-related reviews from travelers in Cirencester.
Cirencester is a lovely town which I have travelled to many times and stayed at various hotels. The Fleece is a great place to eat especially at lunch time. Their sandwiches are amazing and reasonably priced. Try the salmon and prawns or the goats cheese sandwiches.
Really wanted to go to the sculpture garden but it closed. With very short notice because of Covid. We then could not find anything else to do so late in the day. Daughter tried really racing and loved it.
Parking was bad when I tried to visit the town the first time. Later I was able to find a parking space on a rainy day. This was a very popular place. The Corinium Museum is very nice and fantastic displays on Roman history
really enjoyed our stay in cirencester delightful place to visit stayed at fleece hotel and would go back to both. Visit to the church St Johns well worth a visit also enjoyed walk in cirencester park
Lovely market town, beautiful green spaces and plenty of eateries and pubs. Great museum, amphitheatre and church, lots of local shops, outdoor market selling local produce and friendly residents. Superb base from which to explore the Cotswolds.
Beautiful town with loads of facilities and very many good dining places. The Fleece has an excellent menu and good wine list. The park area behind the Abbey in Market Place is exceptional and such a delight to find in a town centre
Location is fantastic right in the centre of a beautiful historic town. Minimal parking at hotel £3 per night or a very large pay & display car park (called Waterloo) just a two minute walk from the back of hotel. Lovely room, comfy bed & good shower. Bar & restaurant is stunning. We had dinner there with family on first night which was very nice. Could do with a wider range of vegetarian food though.
Cirencester
Location to the centre of town and shops and access to parks and open spaces for walking. Great location to explore The Cotswolds and this wonderful area of the UK. Also loved, the outside courtyard for relaxing. Having all the facilities necessary (fully equipped kitchen, Netflix, TV, great Wi-Fi, peaceful quiet bedrooms) to enjoy a restful break - especially under lockdown.
Cirencester
The location of the hotel is very good - close to a waterpark and also next to the highway. The room is very spacious and very clean. Many covid precautions were taken. There are a couple things that the hotel has done for families with children - a movie room and a play area. There is plenty parking. Lots of cycling paths that are off-road nearby around the lakes.

Super location, very clean rooms with good food and a wonderful host to boot. Kathleen was very kind, talkative and informative, giving recommendations on places to go and eat. The hotel takes covid regulations seriously as well - plenty of sanitizer in the hallway, masks in common areas etc. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area.
We stayed in a room with a lake view, the views were incredible and places to eat around the hotel had amazing views too, staff were lovely on check in and check out, the lady on the front desk who dealt with us both times was fab but didn’t get her name! Room was lovely and clean would love to stay again!

The Village pub is located in the village of Barnsley in southern Cotswolds - it is a beautiful building and part of the Barnsley House hotel and Spa complex - the village is quiet, few turist's but lovely to walk around with a nice old church and typical Cotswold stone cottages. The Pub itself is great with a secluded siting area outside. Our room "Bluebell" was stunning and full of everything you need with both bath and an amazing shower. Staff were friendly and always smiling. Food is very good but not quite on a par with the Barnsley house menu - guests should try both places. Barnsley house is just 5 minutes walk away and has fantastic gardens. We will be returning to the Village pub in the near future.
Gorgeous gardens; lovely decor; my room had original decor, including bathroom; nice spa.
