We were initially surprised when we arrived at the hotel as the bar was very very noisy and the party was in full swing! We were not staying in this part of the hotel the manager smiled to us but across and up the road. So silence guaranteed.

Some lovely buildings and the rejuvenation of the riverside...
Some lovely buildings and the rejuvenation of the riverside is great but there are still a lot of tired neglected areas and too much litter in main shopping areas. RSS Discovery is worth a visit and the Verdant works are fascinating. Some great restaurants and cafes. V & A was disappointing.

Fabulous City. Everyone very friendly.
Fabulous City. Everyone very friendly. V & A and especially Discovery on waterfront very good in both information and pricing. Plenty of good eateries - St Andrews Brewing Co near waterfront very good for families with not a huge menu available but service and staff exceptional.

Dundee is in a fantastic location. The views are lovely. Great promenade that goes on for miles.
Sadly the centre of Dundee is filled with shops that have closed down, so it’s a bit unattractive in the centre.

Visit the V&A, even if just to admire the building!
Visit the V&A, even if just to admire the building! Right next door is the Research Ship Discovery - go below decks and experience the cramped quarters!
If you're fit - walk up the Law for amazing views.
If you're walking, be prepared for some uphill climbs.
If, like us, you're a senior citizen from England, remember that your bus pass is not valid in Scotland. But bus fares are reasonable and, in the central areas, buses appear to be frequent.

We visited partly because of family but also because it has a lot to offer culturally and historically and is a good stepping stone to the hinterland. While the V&A is a great museum check out the McManus Art Galley and Museum. One of the best regional museums in the UK with excellent exhibitions and interpretation.
The location was great, 20 minute drive to Dundee and Broughty Ferry. 5 minute drive to the Kingsway. Lots of free parking. Room was spacious and very comfortable. Bed was also comfortable. Didn't use the gym or pool so can't comment on it but you can smell the pool throughout the hotel which I personally like but it is very strong. Also shower is great!
I love the location as I arrived by train - it’s right above the station, and I was visiting the V&A which is just across the road. Room is spacious and everything is clean. Breakfast is reasonable. This was my second visit to the hotel and I’ll continue to use it when in Dundee. Staff are all welcoming and efficient.
All of it u cant find a better hotel in scotland dundee apex is amazin staff are always brilliant go out there wat for you always and its clean rooms are so homely and so much space pool is fab
