We loved Dundee and were fortunate enough to enter the city by the Tay bridge. The city is friendly and welcoming, it is vibrant and a pleasure to walk around. The city is a mixture of old and new and we simply adored the V&A on the banks of the Tay. It is a must to visit Broughty ferry for its castle, beaches and street cafes. Wonderful eating opportunities within the city centre.
It poured with rain on our first day in Dundee but nevertheless we enjoyed walking along the river, past the McGonaghall walk to the V&A, which was our main reason for visiting. It is a wonderful museum, though would benefit from a proper cloakroom to hang (very) wet coats.
Dundee is a rough diamond, a miniature Glasgow it may look rough but beneath it has the community and drive of a cultured city. The Caird Hall, the bus station with all its inter connections. The University. It has a daily frequent bus link to St Andrews.
V&A excellent, and free, though we did donate. Discovery exhibition and ship good value. McManus Galleries also free and very interesting, Compact town, easily accessible from train station. High street like so many these days, depressing with empty shops. But a large bright indoor centre too (Overgate). A good number of restaurants and cafes, but very few small interesting shops, mainly chain stores. Nice setting by the River Tay.
Hotel is on a very busy junction, easy walk to shops, restaurants and the V&A. Hotel was chosen as a Birthday upgrade from Premier Inn as used Hilton Hotels abroad. Bed, duvet and comfort just does not compare! Premier Inn next to the V&A was in much better position and shall now be loyal to Premier Inn.
Dundee has not got much going on, a High St like any other. People are polite and friendly. The cake isnt up to much. At night the usual element come out to play. No visible police presence. Beggars outside shops by day, a Weatherspoons full of daytime drinkers sums the place up,
The hotel is beautifully decorated and in a brilliant location for access to Dundee and all its facilities. Staff were friendly and informative, and gave us the option to add breakfast on the next morning for £10 which was ideal for us as we were off to a wedding. The room was gorgeous with a really comfy bed and beautiful view. Tea and coffee and shortbread in the room and a lovely bathroom with toiletries included.
Dundee
I loved the homely feel about this hotel. It was our home away from home. The breakfast was exquisite and cooked to our preference. Fiona and her partner were lovely hosts and made us feel very welcome. Fiona cooked some amazing breakfast. The service was absolutely amazing. Next time we are up in Dundee or nearby the only place we will stay!!
It’s situated in a great area. With lots of coffee’s, restaurants and pubs. It’s impossible to get bored. 5 min walking distance there is also beautiful castle with amazing playground which makes it great place for a families as well. I highly recommend the hotel and to visit Dundee 😊 We had a wonderful time 😃
Extremely friendly and welcoming Staff. I could not fault my stay at all which is why I have given the hotel 10 out of 10. nice breakfast, basic but was included in our stay. The hotel has a great location and great value for money. I would stay here again and would recommend.
Absolutely beautiful hotel. Few minutes walk from main train station. VERY comfy beds. Staff were so friendly and helpful. My whole stay was amazing. Bar and restaurant is very nice too. I really enjoyed my meal there. I will definatley be returning when in Dundee. Thank you :)
The location of the hotel is fantastic for business travel. Literally out of the train station left turn and into the hotel also very well insulated as no noise from the trains or the high street. Staff were very helpful and the room was spotless clean
Large comfortable though rather dated hotel on the outskirts of Dundee, well signposted from the A85, plenty of free parking, popular restaurant and bar area, dated though decent size rooms, comfortable bed, good bathroom, tea and coffee facilities.

Dundee
i first want to start off by saying these apartments could have been my home. This is how comfortable the space and the building was. The vibe of my apartment and the overall apartment building is so. Relaxing inviting. When i wasn’t exploring Dundee relaxing in the apartment was so peaceful. It was hard to leave. You have everything you need in the area. 2 grocery stores a lidl and a tesco expresss. Their is a dessert bar called “kaspa”. Their is a casino on the backside of the apartment. “Verdunt works” is behind the apartments. The mall is a 5 minute walk, The Train station , discovery point and the riverfront are a 10 minute walk. “Dundee law” is a 25 minute walk thru the Dunghoe park from the apartment. Which you will see the university and the old castle. Their are numerous bars and restaurants in the area. The staff was very accommodating and everything was ready for me upon my arrival from the train station. Within the apartment the internet was great, i was able to work with no problem. The shower was very very good, and the bed was super comfortable. You wont be disappointed with the apartment . A wonderful home away from home.
Extremely good value and location. I love your hotel.
