We really enjoyed our stay here, it was clean and cosy. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed. Sadly the weather wasn’t great so couldn’t enjoy the garden. But we managed to visit St Abb’s and Eyemouth which I’d recommend.

The Hosts were so passionate about cleanliness, service, presentation, and meals. They provided a top-notch stay and made sure you had everything you needed. There is no shortage of anything. Meals were home cooked tasty meals and certainly not minimal on size. You can tell Sarah and David take great pride in what they offer and make everyone feel welcome. My husband is still raving about the egg and bacon sandwich, says it was the best he had in over 30 years if ever. I am a little jealous I didn't get one. Outstanding, 11 out of 10 !!!

The Hotel was very comfortable, and the room was huge. The lady running the bar the night we stayed was a credit to the business. Helpful, great laughs and great advice for the continuation of our trip. The chef came out for chat also it was just a very welcoming and enjoyable place to stay for our first night in Scotland.

What guests said about Duns:

Scored out of 10, guest rating 10

Beautiful experience.

Beautiful experience. The cabin was idyllic, very clean and fantastic decor. The view of the farming fields and the animals was a treat to wake up to. The bed was incredibly comfortable as well as the seating in the living room, and the swing seat on the porch was amazing. The kitchen had everything we needed, including the little touches we appreciated, such as the milk, butter, sauces, oil ect. The freshly baked brownies that were left for us were genuinely the most delicious brownies we had ever eaten. The shower was lovely, with great water pressure. Honestly, the entire trip was even better than expected and we will definitely be booking again.

Duns is well positioned in the middle of rural Berwickshire, not far from the sea, the hills ( Lammermuirs and Cheviots ) and many well known beauty spots, Abbeys and places of interest. It houses the Jim Clark Museum. He, along with Duns Scotus have put Duns on the map.

Duns (and nearby Chirnside) is closely associated with one of motorsport's true heroes, Jim Clark. World Champion driver in 1963 and 1965, multiple champion in many other categories, and winner of the Indianapolis 500 in 1965. The Jim Clark Motorsport Museum is a must for not only Clark fans but for everyone interested in finding out more about the world of motor racing. Jim Clark remains an inspiration and a hero for many people today. well done Duns!

Nice little town, lovely market square, lots of seats.

Nice little town, lovely market square, lots of seats. Lovely park. However there were very few shops and only one place to get a meal in the evening. Jim Clarke Museum is really worth a visit - walking distance from the centre.

Friendly people, nice atmosphere. It was during covid period, but during this time visited york, durham,Edinburgh and Berwick and dunns and would have to say Dunns seemed to be doing just as good a job as the other areas in making you feel welcome.

We were only there for a wedding so spent little to no time in the area. Location was pleasant enough, very rural. The hotel arranged taxis for us to and from the wedding which was great and they were on time.

The location is perfect, it was easy to find right in the centre of Duns and there's plenty of free parking. A very clean flat that was more spacious than expected. High quality towels and bed linen, good quality toiletries and a well-equipped kitchen with starter packets of tea, coffee and sugar. The Co-Op is five minutes walk away for anything else you need. An excellent base for up to 4 people for exploring the beautiful Borders.

The apartment was excellent, had all we needed for a relaxing stay, with a country, luxury feel. The grounds are amazing, wildlife running about in tranquil setting. My daughter is into photography, and was in her element in the gardens. Although rural, Duns very close, Berwick and Eyemouth less than 20 minutes away too.
