Friston is a nice small little village close to the Suffolk coast, Minsmere, Aldeburgh & Dunwich Heath. Lovely pub with friendly staff and good food. Lots of footpaths for walking. Only drawback is no corner shop but there is one in Knodishall 2 miles away.
We were in town for a wedding at Snape Maltings (very nice concert venue looking out over the fens). The village was very quaint, felt very much like you were in the English countryside with a pub and a church and little more. Aldeburgh's not far away with its beach and reportedly the best fish and chips in the area from the chippie at the bottom of the high street.
Friston is a nice village with great dog walks - it also makes a perfect base for the Suffolk coast and surrounding villages/Snape Maltings. Would recommend the local pub which is very welcoming and within walking distance of the cottage.
