Almost afloat, The Isles of Glencoe Hotel is nestled on the side of a peninsula, reaching into Loch Leven at the foot of Glencoe. The lady on check-out was really helpful and gave us some excellent tips on where to visit and we discovered some places we wouldn't have otherwise seen. An excellent stay.

Travelling to Glencoe from Fort William by bus was an unforgettable experience, with heartbreaking mountain landscape. A choice of a few local pubs serving local fresh fish. Two hostels that are in great location for walking and trekking either as amateur or professional. A beautiful loch with the history of the Glencoe clan. A must see original location.
There were lots of trails for hiking in the area, but because we went up to Glennfinnan for most of the day, we didn't get to experience much in Glencoe. The scenery in the area was lovely with many small ponds and streams. We stopped at the tourist information building operated by the National Trust for Scotland and had to pay the 2 pound parking fee and didn't even get so much as a helpful map. The person staffing the information booth was not very cheerful or helpful.
The scenery is breathtaking and there are tons of (strenuous) hikes very nearby. The problem is that once the sun goes down, there's nothing to do. No pubs, just houses (most of which are B&Bs).
Famous area for hiking the Western Highlands. Good access, adequate shopping, wonderful scenery (well, let's face it...all of Scotland is scenic!), and close to the west coast if you prefer surf over turf.
You will not be disappointed with this small village at the entrance of the Highlands. Some of the most breathtaking scenery you will ever see. Be prepared for the small town flair though, business hours and amenities, but so worth it.

My girlfriend and I have just returned from a fantastic two night stay in the ‘Eco Cabin’ The location is perfect for exploring all that Glencoe has to offer whilst the cabin itself has a superb view into the hills. The cabin exceeded our expectations. It was much bigger than expected with a double bed, double sofa and well equipped kitchenette. The bathroom was also bigger than expected. The underfloor heating kept the place cosy. Handy fifteen minute walk to the Clachaig Inn and a five minute drive from the coop in Ballachulish.

Where to start? This was honestly the best stay, in the most magical location, for the three weeks I was in Scotland. The cottage was stunningly decorated, and extremely well appointed. The photos really don't do it justice. The view of the Glencoe mountains out every single window in the cottage was breath taking. I absolutely would love to stay here again, and can't recommend it enough.

Extremely comfortable accommodations. Host very accommodating and available if needed. Wonderful pastoral views. Apartment well situated, well provisioned. Glencoe area was lovelier than expected - one of my favorites in Scotland for sheer scenery. Great restaurant at Loch Leven Hotel and Loch Leven Seafood. So comfortable - couldn't recommend more highly!

The hotel was easy to get to from the WHW. We caught the bus at the point the trail crosses the highway and the bus stop was right in front of the hotel (and we took the bus back). The hotel is right on the edge of Glencoe, close to the downtown area and Loch. The restaurant right next door was quite nice, with nice outdoor seating. The price was reasonable!

We stayed in one of the new bell tower suites. Very private, hot tub outside, the space was like a loft apartment. Very quiet, peaceful, yet close to the highway to go to Fort William, etc. We got a chance to tour one of the suites in the "house" proper. Stunning. Definitely will book again!

Excellent decoration and location. Enjoy the bushwalking at back door. Perfect view on the lake and sufficient cookeries. But we need to drive to the Hollytree hotel to check in first. Will stay here next time when we visit Highland again. Thanks!
