We went for a wee night away, we have been many times and that’s why we returned, it’s mystical and magical in all weathers, romantic too ♥️ The drive is one of the best in Scotland with magnificent views, mountains and waterfalls
without doubt my favourite place on the whole earth. Glen Etive, left hand turn just after the bridge before you go into Glencoe is also beautiful. Glencoe top, middle and bottom are all stunning locations, even in the fog. Bidean Nam Bien (Mountain) is a fantastic challenge but there must be 15-20 walks in the area.
Glen Coe and Glen Etive are the most stunning glens in my opinion. There are literally hundreds if not thousands of walks to do in the area for all ages and abilities. The villages of Glen Coe and Ballachulish are well situated near to Fort William for the bigger town amenities and the Lochs Linney and Leven have plenty more opportunities for wildlife spotting, waterside dining, swimming and water sports as well as boat trips. Literally a place made in heaven for outdoor enthusiasts.
Glencoe is fantastic for walking and you are spoilt for choice no matter what your fitness levels are. I don't like to spend to much time (if any) touring, but at this particular location you don't have to. If like me you like the great outdoors and just want to walk, the mountains are on your doorstep as are many walking routes/pathways. If you're lucky with the weather there's nowhere quite like it, but I would try and book a stay when midgies aren't such a pain. There are lochs nearby if you like watersports and of course cycling, but beware as the roads are very busy and drivers seem to have a problem adhering to the speed limit even on very quiet roads with pedestrians
Beautiful locations and loads of walks. Good for campers and hill walkers. Rainy days gives a mystic charm. Loved the drive and scenery to Etive forest. Lovely walk at An Torr and hot food at the Clachaig Inn. Experience Mother Nature at its best.
Most of the staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel is situated within some beautiful scenery not much around in the way of pubs/shops/restaurants. The room was really disappointing, not as clean as it should’ve been, way too small, the view was disappointing and the hotel is generally tatty not worth the money you pay. The restaurant is nice when you get there but there is an old door from the hotel to the restaurant which looks like it is for staff only then you are in a cold hallway where the kitchen on your right that you can see into, we saw staff carrying frozen meat to the kitchen, far from ideal.
Glencoe
Amazing views from this comfortable and stylish lodge. Just over the bridge that separates Loch Leven and Loch Linnihe in North Bellachulish, the location is perfect for exploring the area. Fort William is only 20 minutes away. There is a Co-op in Bellachulish and an M&S Food Hall in Fort William, so self catering was easy. We also ate at Loch Leven Hotel and the food was excellent. The owners were very helpful and the lodge was very clean and well furnished. Would thoroughly recommend this lodge to stay in.
Both me and my partner travel a lot and stay at many BnBs hotels/ hostels were made to feel very welcome from immediate arrival at the Isles of glencoe. We visit glencoe and the Highlands religiously but was our first stay at the Isles of glencoe and for sure it wouldn't be the last, only booked for one night but will be extending our stay for longer next time. The staff were very attentive and the facilities and the food were top tier, especially for a 3 star establishment! The scenery was breathtaking.
Glencoe
A very special hotel, truly a unique experience, as it is a renovated castle / mansion with only 5 huge suites and breakfast / dinner is served directly to your room. Staff is very friendly and helpful (activities, tips etc) The view onto the lake and the surrounding gardens are spectacular! Truly a place to come and disconnect, indulge in the beautiful nature around the hotel and enjoy a very special couple of days.
Hotel is nestled in a valley surrounded by mountains in the heart of Glencoe, ensuring stunning views of the surroundings. It is also close to Fort William and other activities we had taken part in that day. The staff are incredibly friendly and there is a good restaurant and bar on site. Rooms are very clean and well stocked with Tunnock's snacks. The food in The Gathering is outstanding and portions are very generous.

Just a lovely cottage in a great location. Everything was provided, including lots of towels (it rained a lot!), lovely warm bedding, tea and coffee, etc. Location is great in a lovely village on the edge of Glencoe, with a chip shop and pub straight across the road! Communication with the owner was great as well. I had a wonderful time walking and talking photos.
The location was superb! Unfortunately it was cold and rainy for our stay so we did not get to enjoy the outside seating nor the creek. It is a very unique property! The cafe is so lovely. Glencoe is the most beautiful part of Scotland And breakfast was delivered right to our door!
This is an grand old hotel with lots of character and charm. It has been upgraded, with nice bathrooms and comfortable rooms. The restaurant was good and the lobby was lovely to pass a rainy evening. Good location for hiking in Glencoe. The staff was really nice.
