Our time at The Rectory was fantastic from start to finish. We will undoubtedly return. Helen & Wyatt were extremely friendly and helpful. It is a beautiful property and one can tell just how much care, thought and skill has gone into making it what it is. The building and grounds are immaculate. Our room exceeded expectations in all respects, very comfortable, tastefully and thoughtfully decorated, the breakfast was quality and beautifully presented. We would highly recommend The Rectory to anybody travelling these parts. Can't emphasize enough!

Lovely main building, loved the decor they used a great interior designer, quirky and interesting. We were in the annexe where the rooms were large with a comfortable bed, tea and coffee facilities and a great shower. Dinner was in their restaurant, really delicious as was breakfast.

Lacock is a very pretty village.

Lacock is a very pretty village. There are several interesting places to visit and interesting walks. The National Trust facilities make it a perfect place to stay for a short break. There are a few excellent pub restaurants. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and there are several interesting places to visit nearby.

A very clean cute little cottage with a nice garden in a quiet location and an excellent Host Jane. As soon as I did the booking, Jane shared all the details we needed to during the stay along with list of nearby stores and restaurants. I reached 30 minutes before the check-in time; it was ready to check-in. We preferred self-catering accommodation and this cottage was well equipped so that we did even miss our kitchen.

Lacock is a beautiful village and is definitely worth a visit. It can sometimes get busy in the day with coach groups calling in but it never becomes overwhelming or too busy. Quieter in the morning and late afternoon. All of the houses are beautiful and it really is like going back in time. The church, tithe barn and postbridge are all worthy of a visit. Take your time to amble around and then enjoy a cream tea in The Red Lion!

Lacock is a village stuck in time.

Lacock is a village stuck in time. It is mostly owned by English Heritage and they have been very careful to ensure it remains just as it did in the 1800's and this is why you often see it in Period Dramas in films and on TV. All the people we met, both those that live there and work there were very friendly and welcoming. There are two lovely pubs, The Red Lion and The George Inn, which are both worth visiting as is the only resturant The Sign of the Angel. If you are looking for a quiet, restful holiday in the Coltswolds in period surroundings or just staying on the set of your favourite TV or Film, Lacock is the place to go. It is also easy travelling to larger places such as Bath or Stow-on-the-Wold.

Lacock is a classic English country village which for the...

Lacock is a classic English country village which for the last 150 years has changed very little. The National Trust has stewardship of the village and it's many Grade II listed buildings. Visiting the Abbey is a must, especially if you appreciate photography! The surrounding countryside is criss crossed with many footpaths offering gentle walks.

Beautiful village with lots of interesting film/TV connections (Harry Potter, Pride & Prejudice, Downton Abbey) and the NT property is worth a visit. Excellent dinner at 'The sign of the Angel'
