Situated just 2 miles from the centre of historic Lancaster and near the university, the Lancaster House Hotel offers an award-winning restaurant and a leisure club. Very close to the university which is why we were there. Lovely dinner and breakfast in the restaurant.
Set on the banks of the River Lune, Holiday Inn Lancaster offers an indoor swimming pool, and sauna. The Staff were amazing, especially Mandy, Susanna and Gary. They went out of their way to provide services to us during our visit. I was very ill for three days and my wife was helped by Mandy, who went to a pharmacy to purchase medicines. Susanna helped us contact the LDS missionaries, who visited. Gary was always pleasant and cheerful, nothing was too much to ask. Generally the whole staff were always polite and helpful. We had to extend our visit to recover from the virus.
Lancaster Premier Inn will suit all visitors, and is just a 10-minute taxi ride from Lancaster Train Station and Lancaster Business Park. Within easy reach are the M6 and the historic city centre. Love the Hypnos mattress the staff were wonderful in the hotel and at breakfast which was brilliant

I wasn't planning to visit Lancaster - I only wanted to see the Forest of Bowland area - but I had to go in to Lancaster to buy a map,and driving or trying to find a parking space was a nuisance (nightmare?). I made my purchase and exited!
Liked the places to go as wasn’t far to travel to places didn’t like morecambe wouldn’t recommend and they don’t do fish n chips (what’s that all about at the seaside!?) towns a good size I would go again and visit more. Williamson park was brill kids enjoyed that aswell. And Yorkshire dales on way home lovely drive and we stopped Kettlewell for an hr or so.
It was great to manage without a car. The bus service to the University was brilliant and enabled us to move around without any problem. The city has much to interest anyone interested in the history of this country, but has s good shopping centre with plenty of good eating places.
A city worth staying in and I wish my stay could have been longer so I could have visited the Castle and more of the other landmarks. Lancaster is only a few minutes on the train from the seaside resort of Morecambe - well worth visiting when the weather is good.
We just went for the 1 night. 4 adults. We had never been to Lancaster and just went for a night off from the little one so plenty drinking was involved. We will definitely be returning to Lancaster as we didnt get round to half of the pubs as there were that many, all in short walking distance. Only had a small walk into the town the day after but it seemed like there were plenty of shops about.
Lancaster is an interesting city. We were there on market Saturday and that was nice. There are many things to see in the city but as my cousin who lives there says they are not promoted the way York is.

The accommodation was functional and comfortable - the bed mattress was very comfortable and tea/coffee generous. The only things missing compared to a basic hotel was a TV and a lift so take your laptop, tablet or phone and connect to the free wi-fi, and if you can't do stairs ask for the ground floor. Breakfast had a very big choice and was excellent.

The decor and furnishings were like staying in a four star hotel With plush towels and even bath robes provided. Located right in the centre of Lancaster in a quaint setting. Public car park about 5-7 mins walk. First visit to Lancaster, we are already planning our second visit

Ann is an excellent welcoming host, with a lovely B&B close to Lancaster University. Really good cooked breakfast, with local produce as well as cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruit etc. We will come again when we next visit our son at UoL.

Only 6 weeks old B&B. Very friendly owners and staff that were extremely helpful! Everything you need is in the beautiful and spacious rooms, like ironing board, minibar, TV, coffee machine and kettle. The beds were so comfortable and the owner's restaurant recommendations were great, too. The breakfast was delicious and very healthy!

Cottage was just lovely. Everything there that we need to visit the beautiful area. Our dog loved watching the field full of cows through the window. Lancaster only a couple of miles away and Arnside and Silverdale just 20 to 30 min drive away.
