Everything. All staff were extremely polite professional and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable.Dark enough, warm enough, quiet enough and equipped enough. Breakfast was first class. Great choice and great taste. Waiting staff were also excellent.

The Dog & Bear was very comfortable.

The Dog & Bear was very comfortable. Great to have a bath with really hot water after a hard day walking the Pilgrims Way. Food was just what we needed, well cooked, filling and tasty. Staff were helpful friendly and interesting. Other places are available to eat. Many wonderful historic buildings in Lenham. Easy walk to the train station.

A lovely, very quaint village with friendly local people.

A lovely, very quaint village with friendly local people. Next time I stay, I will hopefully take in a stroll, the weather wasn't great, for the short time we were there. I can imagine during the Spring and Summer months, how beautiful the village square would be.

Incredible walks through fields just past the medieval...

Incredible walks through fields just past the medieval church. I went to the local shop to buy some dog food and they let the dog in. I chatted to locals and visited some more of the shops all dog friendly. The village is beautiful and has a range of pubs and restaurants which I didn’t get chance to use. It was a really nice place to stay for a night. I would have like to have stayed longer. To top it off I heard a nightingale on my walk. I’ll definitely be back. I stayed in a dog friendly room at the Dog and Bear - lone female traveller with a small dog.

We went to Chapel Down vinery for a tour before staying at Lenham. The Dog and Bear was a little further than we expected down a lot of very scenic country roads but we had a very enjoyable stay for one night.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating to my partner and I. We stayed in the Victoria room, which was beautiful. The food for dinner was brilliant and the area is so peaceful and relaxing. We stayed as a birthday celebration for my partner and the staff made a "Happy Birthday" plate with sweet treats, which was a lovely surprise for him. We spent the morning walking around the grounds and the lake is beautiful, even in the rain and cold. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.

A good hotel in the middle of a small English village. The rooms were in the back of the tavern in an extension building. Our room faced the parking lot at the back of the hotel. The room was big enough and the shower was good. The breakfast was exceptional. From the hotel, you can stroll through the village or walk through the fields. Make sure you bring your wellies if you want to do so in winter.

It was difficult to find the hotel and although I knew the room would not be large - and I am very slim - it was incredibly tiny and one couldn't move around with ease. Thank goodness it was only a one night stay!

Don’t be fooled by the crushed velvet- this is a hidden gem. A great little hotel, fantastic food and staff who go above and beyond.
