The Dog & Bear was very comfortable.
The Dog & Bear was very comfortable. Great to have a bath with really hot water after a hard day walking the Pilgrims Way. Food was just what we needed, well cooked, filling and tasty. Staff were helpful friendly and interesting. Other places are available to eat. Many wonderful historic buildings in Lenham. Easy walk to the train station.

A lovely, very quaint village with friendly local people.
A lovely, very quaint village with friendly local people.
Next time I stay, I will hopefully take in a stroll, the weather wasn't great, for the short time we were there.
I can imagine during the Spring and Summer months, how beautiful the village square would be.

Incredible walks through fields just past the medieval...
Incredible walks through fields just past the medieval church. I went to the local shop to buy some dog food and they let the dog in. I chatted to locals and visited some more of the shops all dog friendly. The village is beautiful and has a range of pubs and restaurants which I didn’t get chance to use. It was a really nice place to stay for a night. I would have like to have stayed longer. To top it off I heard a nightingale on my walk. I’ll definitely be back. I stayed in a dog friendly room at the Dog and Bear - lone female traveller with a small dog.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating to my partner and I. We stayed in the Victoria room, which was beautiful.
The food for dinner was brilliant and the area is so peaceful and relaxing.
We stayed as a birthday celebration for my partner and the staff made a "Happy Birthday" plate with sweet treats, which was a lovely surprise for him.
We spent the morning walking around the grounds and the lake is beautiful, even in the rain and cold.
We would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Was a really nice hotel, restaurant and friendly bar with good size car park at the back. Room was lovely facing the courtyard, included hand towel and bath towel. Reataurant meal was lovely and breakfast was great from cereal, fruit, yoghurts, pastries, jugs of juice, toast and cooked menu we both chose full English

Friendly and helpful staff. Nice bar, good range of food and drink available. Large private car park. The bed was comfortable and we had the added bonus of a private enclosed courtyard, ideal for the dog.
Very pet friendly in the hotel and bar.

It was difficult to find the hotel and although I knew the room would not be large - and I am very slim - it was incredibly tiny and one couldn't move around with ease. Thank goodness it was only a one night stay!
