Excellent value for money given the quality, with outstanding support and service even during the holiday period. A particularly thoughtful touch was the Christmas sweets left by the staff, accompanied by a lovely welcome card. Stacey was exceptional we briefly triggered the smoke detector with my wife’s hairdryer (these devices are very sensitive), and she arrived within minutes to resolve the issue professionally and calmly. Overall, it was a fantastic stay, and I would definitely return!

Lovely seafront.

Lovely seafront. Beach is more stony than it used to be so take your sand shoes! Nice toilets but quite a walk to them if you’re at the opposite end of the prom! Fab fresh hot donuts from the kiosk 😋

My review is just of the beach area

My review is just of the beach area Having lived locally a number of years ago we have a soft spot for the town - particularly the beach We were surprised how few people were on the beach - compared to when we used to live in the town - times change The beach south of the Claremont Pier is lovely and sandy - it is spotless and well worth a visit with the family and all the associated equipment you'd want on a beach During our stay we visited Southwold - I know it's a case of each to their own but I was amazed to see more people on the beach - when, if they're staying locally - only a matter of a few miles down the road is a far better one at Lowestoft

Lowestoft has a huge working harbour and some nice sandy beaches. If you like looking at boats then it's great. The area around the Yacht Club has been nicely laid out and there is a fountain pool. There is a pier and bigger beach further down at Claremont, but we didn't go there on this visit.

We visited Gorleston, but did not enjoy the experience. There was overly loud pop music playing on the common. We went to eat at the Cliffe Restaurant when again we had to put up with very loud music being played by a DJ. The food provided was poor. The overall experience was such that we would not return nor recommend it to our friends.

It is a quiet seaside resort which is just what we wanted.

It is a quiet seaside resort which is just what we wanted. The beach is large (although a bit pebbly in places) and a lovely place for both sunbathing and swimming. This is definitely not Great Yarmouth - it is simple and understated with no bling.

Lowestoft is a shadow of what it was when I grew up in the town. The High Street is now largely a collection of charity stores, vape shops and empty storefronts. It all seemed a little empty and desperate. The beach, while still quite nice near the Claremont Pier, which has a wide sandy stretch and some decent on-beach infrastructure, is not what it was - largely narrow and stone-filled. I am not sure what has happened with what used to be guest houses along the promenade, but many seem rather dirty and poorly kept. I imagine that they are no longer doing business as guest houses. The new gull wing bridge is a huge improvement for general mobility, and it looks as if some development may happen around the docks. I hope so, because I cannot see much else positive going on in the town.

The breakfast was great, plenty of choice, prompt service and delicious bread. We had dinner at the hotel most of the time as it was convenient and they were very good. The staff were friendly and courteous. The room was large and the whole hotel was well decorated throughout with separate dining and breakfast rooms.,There were also smallish seating areas to spend time in. The room was clean, shower was easy to use , variety of beverages provided including water.

We were in Lowestoft for a 60th Birthday Party and stayed 1 night in the Baytree.Location was ideal for us about 10mins in a taxi from the Railway Station. The Baytree had a nice Garden area which you could sit out in with a wine or beer.Indeed on the Sat morning we sat outside and had our Breakfast.😉

Evening menu was very good but somewhat expensive. The room was of a good size with a sea view and was serviced daily. All areas of the hotel have been upgraded to a good standard and retain original character. Staff were professional and always pleasant.
