Located in Newry, 7.5 mi from The Cathedral of Saint Patrick and Saint Colman, Clonlum Holiday Cottages features accommodations with free WiFi. The property was beautiful, clean, and very comfortable. It is in a good central location for east Ireland. From this location, we drove to Giants Causeway, Carrick a Rede rope bridge, Belfast, Blackrock County Louth, Dublin, Bray, and Avoca. All drives were 1-2 hours, but so nice to return to one place at the end of the day. The cottage has a wonderful view of Slieve Gullion. We drove around all sides of the mountain and to the top. The drive to the top is absolutely breathtaking!!! The host was wonderful. He checked almost everyday to see if we needed anything and gave us tips on places to see each day. Be sure to try Murphy Bar as it is much more impressive on the inside and the food is great. The local Mace grocery had most things we needed. It is a short drive into Newry for large supermarkets and a shopping mall. The cottage is equipped for cooking so we ate breakfast and dinner there and packed a lunch. I can’t say enough good things about this cottage!!! We stayed there 6 days.

Located in Newry in the County Down region, with The Cathedral of Saint Patrick and Saint Colman nearby, Clanrye House has accommodations with free WiFi and free private parking. There was a bit of confusion over breakfast, we booked and paid breakfast inclusive, but she said it continental breakfast not hot breakfast which in kind of started us on the wrong foot. We just let it go, although she did her best in a way.

We were not there very long, but the locals were very friendly. The information was freely available from. Anyone that was near by. Very friendly and affordable from what we seen. There is a little restaurant behind the hotel a.d the food was great and not expensive a lot of locals ate in it always a good sign.Newry is not easy to drive through but walking is a different matter.
Loved the beautiful scenery, friendly, helpful, welcoming people, lovely restaurants, beautiful food, restful pace of life, lots to see and do. Lovely shops, supermarkets sell absolutely everything! Cathedral is beautiful as is the one in Armagh.
It has a beautiful Cathedral and good shopping areas. If you want spectaular scenery then just drive down the side of the Quays on down the side of Carlinford Lough and the take the scenic Ferry to the other side and there are some beautiful country drives with fantastic scenery and loveloy country pubs for a nice meal on route. Dont drink and drive though. The roads are good but quite a few twists and turns.
Only half way through the trip, but at this stage surroundings are great - weather is cold for time of year but not complaining. Great place to visit if you need to rest and re charge. Lots of lovely places to eat, Flagstaff in particular.
Well as it was only a overnight stay as I had hospital appointment we didn't really get to see much of Newry but there are places of interest that I would live to visit. Loved the shops. Would like to go back sometime as a relaxing break.

Lovely house in a beautiful location with a view of the sea at the front and mountains at the rear. The house was very well equipped and had everything you need for your stay. Very comfortable beds although it was fun for me, at 5'1", climbing into the beautiful brass bedstead - a ladder would have been handy!! The house has a very large living room with lovely comfortable armchairs and sofa - even a little doggie bed! We will definitely stay there again when we come back to the area.

Everything. The location is brilliant for us. We were also travelling with a young child. The whole trip would have been much harder if we had been staying in a hotel.
Overall the hotel was very good value for money. The breakfast and meals in the bar were very good. Bar staff were excellent.
Cleanliness and facilities of hotel
