Beautiful relaxing hotel, check in staff member was amazing, so friendly and attentive and even upgraded us to a superior room because it was our first time staying. Breakfast was delicious, very relaxing. The grounds of the hotel were beautiful, lovely area and within striking distance of everything.

food in the windmill pub just over the road was excellent and with plenty of gluton free options the train station is a very easy walk from cottage you can have a nice little walk along the canal at the back of the property

Parbold is a lovely village.

Parbold is a lovely village. We didn’t have that much time here as we arrived late afternoon and had plans elsewhere after. There were a few really nice looking pubs/eateries but we opted to pick up a takeaway from the local Indian which was pretty good. There’s a little Morrisons handy for groceries and essentials. We visited Cedar Galleries on Angel’s recommendation which was close by. We loved it - little artisan shops such as handmade jewellery, glass and chocolate. Great coffee at Roberts, really good Cafe and I very much enjoyed completing a glass painting workshop at Julie Langan Glass. Lovely area.

Whilst our stay was for personal business, we truly enjoyed...

Whilst our stay was for personal business, we truly enjoyed our stay. Alistair and Liz were generous hosts, checking in periodically to ensure our stay was pleasant. Their cottage was a home away from home. We would definitely visit again! Parbold is a small village with everything with everything we needed within close walking distance. The train station was a short 3-minute walk from the property, giving easy access to Manchester and Southport. There were also buses but they ran every 2 hours. Taxis were a little difficult to come by, but Skermersdale taxis came within the half hour.
