Located in Porthleven in the Cornwall region, Fantastic views of the whole of the bay Porthleven has a garden. We liked everything. The house was clean, comfortable, and very well equipped. The towels and bedding were spotless and there was constant hot water. The views were superb, and we wanted for nothing. Jeff, the house owner, is a man of few words, but is extremely helpful and amenable. We shall definitely be returning.

Discovered Porthleven on a previous holiday when the poor weather kept us away from the beaches. It is an interesting and fascinating harbour with great access to the coastal paths. The floral cliffs are amongst the most colourful on the Lizard. We love the range of shops and cafés and the welcoming pubs. The locals are so friendly. There is also a good bus route that stops right at the harbour so that you can walk the coastline and catch a ride back. We also recommend Michael Caine’s Harbourside restaurant (taken over from Rick Stein) … we can’t keep away!
It is a beautiful village, even in the mist and rain. I ate at Kota Kai which was a last minute decision and an incredible surprise. The food was excellent. I was travelling by bike and carrying all my gear so it was very easy to access. I was particularly taken by the lights that came on at night right around the harbour. I was there when it was stormy and wild. Watching the waves crash in (from a safe distance) was hypnotic. I'll be returning as soon as I can.
People friendly, views lovely even in Winter, though Summers are even better, great walks along coastal path. Food at the Harbour Inn was lovely, especially the breakfast and they have live music in the bar of a weekend (only Saturday in the Winter). A number of other pubs in the harbour also have live music of a weekend.
The people we meet were so friendly. For being a rather small village the options for food & drink were quite varied. There was a small craft market and a art show the day we were there that we enjoyed.
Porthleven is a small fishing village with excellent choice of eateries to suit all budgets and tastes. We particularly loved Kota . Coastal walks in both directions are recommended , take water and a picnic to make a day of it. If beaches are your bag you'll find Praa Sands very hard to beat - excellent , safe family beach .
We stopped in Porthleven, met with friends and had the most amazing Cream Tea in The Twisted Currant Tea Room. Parking easy and good value. Beautiful harbour and bustling with people. Good restaurants, pubs and shopping. Not overly tourist-centric... very nicely done.
Sunnybank house was in a superb location, the views are stunning, Portleven is a really beautiful harbour with lots of lovely restaurants, pubs and shops. The people were especially friendly. Jeff was on hand at all times before, during and after our stay. The property was very clean and the kitchen was extremely well equipped, being able to all sit around the table to eat and look out at the sea was wonderful. The beds were very comfortable. Being able to take our dogs was an added bonus, the walks on the doorstep were amazing.
Porthleven
We arrived to Porthleven after an eleven hours journey and appreciated the welcoming gifts. We used the heater at the evening as the weather was still chilly. The SKY box was a nice surprise. The double bed was very comfortable, we had quite nights. We had afternoon teas on the little terrace. The neighborhood was very welcoming.
Porthleven
The Hotel was particularly clean and tidy with hand sanitiser placed after each door. It felt very safe. The location was ideal with some off street parking close by. This doesn't belong to the hotel but was very useful.
Porthleven
Location was ideal for us, close to the countryside and places we wished to visit. Also only a few minutes walk to excellent restaurants in Porthleven and the harbour.
