The Landlady was very pleasant and helpful, check in is at 4pm and she was right on time, showed us to our room and explained the features. view from the room was of the courtyard, the water pressure and temperature was more than needed. The bathroom was modern and clean, the room is located in a public house and the bar was friendly and had a good selection of local beers.

Perfect location for activities. Quiet, secure and dog friendly. Very comfortable location. Lovely woodland walk where dogs can run less than 10 minutes walk away. Lovely kitchen downstairs, spacious sitting room and bedroom upstairs, all really well presented. Host lovely and helpful.

We were kindly upgraded so didn't stay in the pod due to the terrible weather at the time. (It was very late, very dark, windy and had been raining across England for days.) I suspect there might have been a search and rescue if we'd tried to walk through the field to the pod in those conditions. So I can't comment on the pod. But look forward to returning at some point when the weather is better.

We booked into the Fitzwarne Hotel, perfectly situated and...

We booked into the Fitzwarne Hotel, perfectly situated and next to the Old Boote pub. Welcomed by Janette, and shown to our bedroom. Nice spacious family room, comprising of a single, and double bed. Beds were comfortable and linen nice and fresh, felt like new. En suite bathroom, with shower over the bath. Lovely hot water and toiletries supplied. Tea & coffee available in the room. Hotel, felt safe and secure with a double door on entry and spacious car park. Debbie the proprietor was very friendly and booked a table in the pub, for both evenings. Hope to return in the Autumn 🍂

Whittington is a stunning village.

Whittington is a stunning village. Well situated for those who enjoy history and has good links to Oswestry, Shrewsbury, Chester, Llangollen and the mid Wales border. The old castle and moat is delightful and local pubs do fab meals at affordable prices. So much do do and see for all ages.

Witting is a lovely small place with some lovely views the pond the castle the birds Castle cafe and toilets were shut but signs said open on all the boards But wittingtonbits self is a nice place for a weekend away

Pretty little village with a Castle set in pleasant fields...

Pretty little village with a Castle set in pleasant fields ideal for dog walking. Ellesmere with its own large mere and 5 or 6 others close by were only 5 miles away and the Mongomery and Llangollen canal confluence is even closer. Then on your return to Boote, be sure of a warm welcome.

It's a nice English village to spend one or two nights; very...

It's a nice English village to spend one or two nights; very handy if you are planning activities around Chirk or Oswestry. The village has a Georgian church and a ruined castle which you can look around free of charge as well as two pubs. I'd recommend Ye Old Boote Inn. It has great food and a great atmosphere.

Staff generally polite but not smart Good English breakfast but other choices limited Website flattered the property - badly needs a refurb Very busy junction site with lorries constantly approaching the main thoroughfare from 5am Rooms are poor with appalling bathroom facilities and conditions Would not recommend this inn to anyone
