Breakfast was good but a little monotonous. The dining area was pleasant with open sides overlooking the pool. The room was basic although the bed was comfortable. The air con worked well and it was a quiet location with a distant sea view. Be prepared for regular 1 hour power cuts around 6pm... suggest you have a torch because there are no candles.

The area we were in was really seedy and run-down. We eventually found an area that had some forms of eateries - I wouldn’t call them restaurants. We had to get our phone torches out on every side street as they were unlit and uneven. Maybe there are nicer areas of Le Gosier, but we did not stay around to find out. Being attacked in the street and sprayed with pepper spray with no provocation will do that for you. There are hundreds of gorgeous places on Guadeloupe - choose them, personally, I would avoid Le Gosier.
The apartment has a great location, literally 5 min walk through a garden area to a semi-private lovely beach with a terrific view and lounging chairs available free of charge. The nearby ( 1 min walk) mini market has supplies for breakfast (croissants and baguettes, as well as french cheeses !) and many other items. A choice of 5 cozy restaurants are next door too , super convenient. We loved our visit to the very point of Grande Terre, le Pointe des Chateaux, as well as our drive to Basse Terre and the village of Deshaies, where Murder in Paradise was filmed.Rental car is the best way to get around, there is bus service, but it tends to be crowded. The apartment is lovely, very well equipped and quiet.
We stayed on Basse-Terre before coming to Le Gosier. In comparison, Le Gosier was more touristic, had less natural wonder, and felt less friendly. Had someone shout out of a car window for us to go home on walk to beach for example. The tourists here also treat the locals rudely. Speaking to them with cursory demands and general lack of respect.
This is geographically the Caribbean but it is socially, culturally and economically France. Don't expect a laid back caribbean vibe just French 'attitude'. Instead of cosy ruralness expect a largely urban environment. We ate in the hotel (not good) but the places outside didn't excite. All in all we would never return to Guadeloupe or indeed the French Caribbean.
The actual township of Le Gosier does not have a great deal to recommend it. We were in the beach area of Pointe de la Verdure which is where most of the large hotels are situated. There are 2 small shopping areas in easy walking distance with a mini market and modest restaurants which was useful when we first arrived and did not have a car. It is the closest resort to the airport which saved on taxi fares on arrival and departure.
Confirmation #3723103641 . Pin 7339 The beach and the nature are gorgeous so is the wild life. But the apartment and the accommodations are hard to describe. First, there is no water for 24 hours twice a week so we were without water for 3 days out of 9! And it means no water to take a shower or even flash the toilet! You could imagine the smell after the end of the day that sprayed all over the building. The rooms are never been cleaned to begin with, no spare set of towels is offered for the duration of your vacation, no matter how long it is (9 days in our case), of course no toiletries. And we had bed bugs!!! The first couple of days it didn’t occur to us why we are not sleeping and scratching our heads until it down on us. In response to our question we have got the bottle of bed bugs spray from a pharmacy brought by the lady who supposed to clean our apartment. She suggested that we sprayed it ourselves and return to the bug free flat a couple of hours later. For some reason she never offered to do it herself. Instead we were offered a second apartment smaller than the first one that was located next to ours and was empty for some strange reason. We would soon figure out why. Because it had bed bugs also! And on top of it there wasn’t power for two days. The power outages are a very common thing in Oceanis Residence Archipel and Savane as well as bad Wi-Fi connection. We had a neighbor who was knocking on our door many times with those issues.
Le Gosier
Jose and Lorena, the owners were brilliant.. They and the other guests were great fun and even though we are English and speak very limited French, they took the time to make us feel included, even giving me an impromptu birthday party. We used the apartment as a base to explore the rest of the island and our hosts gave us the best places to go and any advice we needed. We had a really special holiday, we wouldn't have had the same experience in a hotel.
Beds beyond hard. The free breakfast options could of def been made fresh and more options horrible options. The ac leaked the first night there the beds are very small and very hard. Despite the room the ambiance of the hotel and beach which really makes this place something was the best part just not where you sleep at night
Nice setting with low buildings around a pool in a lovely garden. The room was quite spacious. The owner is friendly but she is a lot around at the hotel since she also lives there, so this is something some people might like while others would miss privacy.
Situated on a hill overlooking the marina with lots of local restaurants, the Hotel Village Soleil was a great first night for our trip. Friendly receptionists and lovely pool.
The room and bathroom were great. Small and compact but neat and clean. The hotel was located close to the beach.
Le Gosier
Close proximity to the beach and jetski and other hotels The secure parking and secure entrance is very good
The beach of the hotel is very nice, it has also a big pool, and also a gym which is decently equipped.
