The only bad thing is that the parking spots are very very rare and sometimes you have to drive around for 45 minutes and then you will take the risk of being fined but this is a general problem in All Greek Islands

Chios is a beautiful island, and the mastic villages and mastic fields were amazing. However, getting to and from the island was difficult. The passport control lines were very long, causing a lot of waiting, tiredness, and wasted time.

Wonderful island for a relaxing family holiday

Wonderful island for a relaxing family holiday Chios was a lovely surprise. The island is very clean, spacious, and has good roads, making it easy to explore by car. The sea is crystal clear and exceptionally clean, although the water can be quite cold. If you prefer long sandy beaches, Chios may not be the most convenient choice, as many beaches are pebbly, but most of them are well organized and pleasant to visit. There are many interesting places to see, from beautiful villages to historical sites and scenic coastal areas. One of the highlights of our trip was the food. The quality was excellent and the prices were very reasonable, especially compared with Santorini, Naxos, and other Cycladic islands. A family can enjoy a very decent meal for less than €20 per person. What impressed us the most was the hospitality of the locals. People genuinely love their island and are eager to help, give recommendations, and suggest places worth visiting. Their friendliness made our stay even more enjoyable. Overall, Chios is an authentic, affordable, and welcoming Greek island that is ideal for families and travelers looking for a more relaxed experience away from the crowds. We would happily visit again.

Amazing place to visit.

Amazing place to visit. Karfas beach is very close, nice and clean, very good for family with children. Airport is very close to town center. Loads of Greek tavernas, coffee shops where you can taste amazing dishes. If you can, rent a car and visit: Mesta, Pyrgi, Komi, Daskalopetra, Langada- trust me, this one is a must, peace of heaven.

We are cyclists so had hoped to rent touring bikes to...

We are cyclists so had hoped to rent touring bikes to explore Chios for one week, but no cycle shop rented good bikes so we rented a small car in Chios Town. We spent 5 wonderful days exploring the southern half of the island and were constantly delighted by the cultural, historical, and stunning beauty and variety on the island. The beaches were magnificent and not crowded. Once we saw how ruggedly mountainous it is, we were thankful we weren’t bicycling! We could have easily spent 2 weeks in southern Chios alone. Each town was a jewel of a different color and beauty, but all fascinating and worth visiting.
