The room is located in the middle of a beautiful, quiet garden. Antigone and her husband are the best hosts I have ever seen. They will help and take care of you and make your stay wonderful and relaxing! The sandy beach is a short walk away and there is a bench in front of the gate with a view where you can watch the sunset. Thank you for the food and care. I highly recommend them to everyone!

We had a really great time! The Apartment was very well equipped with even more than you can expect. Directly in front of the apartments terrace you will find a nice garden with sunbeds and hammocks under olive- and orange trees and even an outdoor shower. After our arrival Antigone surprised us with a fresh salad from her garden, feta, and fried potatoes - it was soo good! Even the next days we found some fresh surprises like kumquats, eggs and more vegetables from the garden. You definitely need a car but then you will have no problem to go everywhere you want. In 2 mins by car or 10 mins by foot you are at the long sandy beach of Chalikounas. The next village is 10mins away, in Kerkyra you will be in 45 mins and during the season (maybe from may) you have to restaurants nearby.

Beautiful relaxing spot away from it all.

Beautiful relaxing spot away from it all. Lovely sandy beach with clear waters. However, there are no facilities on the beach so you need to take drink/food with you. Whilst we were there they were building a beach bar so hopefully that will be open soon. We stayed at Alonaki Bay which is beautiful and I highly recommend. Simple Greek food cooked well and a wonderful view. Downside is there is no supermarket within walking distance. Probably about 15/20 mins drive.

Halikounas was a great location for a holiday.

Halikounas was a great location for a holiday. Our villa was between Ayos Mathios and Halikounas so we ate at different locations each night and actually favoured the village taverna to the sea view ones as they were so much more authentic. All of the menus were similar offering a full greek selection but enough plain food should you not wish to try things. However we would seriously recommend Rozina and Pavlos Taverna as it was so welcoming and encouraged you to try new food.

It’s a great part of the island with prevailing wind keeping you cool even on the hottest of days. The beach is great, with two beach bars offering reasonable priced drinks and snacks. The beach is initially stoned, but smooth and within a few metres it is soft sand. There are lovely tavernas nearby and a winery. All are great value, with simple food done very well. You will need a car to get about Corfu. Mopeds or Quad bikes are great, but roads are narrow and potholed, so if you are not experienced on 2 wheels, stick to 4. As always in Greece, the locals are warm and welcoming. Corfu is blessed with lots of great beaches, but Halikounas is probably one of the best
