We enjoyed our stay at gavdos panorama a lot. The hosts are very friendly and caring. They do also offer for free the transfer from and back to the port of gavdos. The family runs also the restaurant to the apartment and offers there a lot of delicious Greek food for reasonable prices. The view is amazing, also there is a small bay in walking distance with only a few people and a small tavern around. Thanks for everything, we are looking forward to come back again!

Wben I arrived hot and sweaty after walking up from the ferry, I was given the best welcome along side a welcome cold bottle of water, followed by a very cold beer. Eftihia and Maria, the mother and daughter team who run Metochi Gavdos were amazing, accomadation was very clean and the bed very comfortable, I ate there every day and the food was very good and great value. Been able to use a scooter was such a bonus allowing me to see so much more of Gavdos. Thankyou Eftihia and Maria for a wonderful time.

Absolutely the **creme de la creme** of accommodation in Kastri, Gavdos! We only stayed for a couple of nights, but it was the perfect balm for our souls, especially when our little one came down with gastroenteritis, and I, in turn, caught the bug. This gem is nestled right on the edge of the forest, with a trail leading directly to Ampelos beach. Imagine stepping out your door and into a hiking adventure that ends with your toes in the sand. The view? Spectacular. You're treated to a panoramic vista of the sea and the island, soaking in those authentic Aegean vibes. If we ever return to Gavdos, this spot is non-negotiable. It's not just a place to stay; it's an experience wrapped in the tranquility of nature. **Highly recommended for anyone seeking a slice of paradise with a side of adventure!**

Peaceful location at the far end of Sarakiniko—ideal for solitude and nature lovers. The room was spotless, Wi-Fi worked well, and the owner and staff were kind and welcoming. A perfect off-grid stay if you’re looking to disconnect. Just a tip for future guests: make sure to bring what you need, especially early in the season. Gavdos is remote—and that’s part of its charm. I should’ve prepared better! It might be nice if each hut had a small alfresco setup outside—maybe a table or surface to prep a coffee or light snack. Nothing fancy, just something to add a bit of independence while keeping the relaxed, rustic vibe.

Great location!! Literally a few steps from our doorstep to the sea! A tavern with deliciously prepared fresh fish and veggies from a garden in front of our room!! Great fava and vlita, fried squid, all cooked near perfection. Not for the fancy gourmet lovers, perfect for those that know the true taste of traditional food. Gavdos and Akrogiali definitely surpassed our expectations!

It's like a hippy island, with the most phenomenal beaches I've ever been to, they all need a bit of walking. There are a few that you can drive to like the main town of Sarakinikos, and the entire beach is just phenomenal to swim at. The restaurants are half price of the site that islands and I'm not joking. It's half price a Greek salad is €7.50 and yet on Paros from Naxxos. It's 14 or €15 If I can say, there is a problem with the added, it would be the longer you stay for more hippie you become they're just such beautiful people.

Very different, quite organised when you get there.

Very different, quite organised when you get there. Quiet and peaceful and simple. People are super friendly and communication was no issue. Getting round the island was simple with a scooter and a good pair of sturdy shoes for the hikes.

It’s like being at the end of the world.

It’s like being at the end of the world. A “Land That Time Forgot.” A place to unplug and disconnect. Experience it before it becomes developed and commercialized like other Greek island or places like Key West, Florida and Provincetown, Massachusetts.

Going to Gavdos means to leave one's comfort zone, although the island's infrastructure has improved a lot, nothing comparable with 25 years ago. Even in summer time and even having daily connections does not mean that the boat will arrive from mainland Crete; winds may change every day and connections may be cancelled on a short notice. Nevertheless if you want to see something new, still quite unspoilt, if you want to hike, especially to Europe's southernmost point, if you want to enjoy lonely beaches, you might feel well on that island.

Bit of a culture shock on arrival, very simple and undeveloped. Beautiful beaches. Excellent local bus service. A few good walks, surprisingly very well waymarked. Lots of wild camping around, and a very laid back hippy culture. Great place to chill out.
