Alma Hotel is built on a hillside overlooking Petra village and the Aegean Sea. Location, facilities, staff and room exceeded our expectations. Alma is located very close to Petra, to the beach and it is very easy to move around. The facilities, including the pool were amazing.

I felt most welcome at Niki's studios. The room was large and adequatly furnished, the bed comfortable. There is a kitchenette and table & chairs on the privative terrasse. The location is great, on the beach front and 200m away from the city center. It's also a very convenient basis for hiking around. There is a great beach restaurant Thalassa 400m away, very good greek food, enjoyed chatting with Nikko.

Villa Archontiko of Petra 1821 is a stone-built, country style villa of 1821, located in the north of Lesvos Island, in the traditional village of Petra near Molyvos. We had a great stay in Hotel. We so impressed by the location, very helpful and cheerful staff. Breakfast was over our expectations.Rooms are very large and comfortable.Hotel price is also very reasonable if you compare by quality and service. We arrived to the beach on foot in 5 minutes. Sea was also very nice, restaurants price also so reasonable. One important thing to add, there is no loud music on the beach😊

Alma Hotel is built on a hillside overlooking Petra village and the Aegean Sea. Location, facilities, staff and room exceeded our expectations.
Built on a low hill in area of Avlaki in Petra village of Lesvos, the Clara Hotel is only 200 metres from the sandy beach. Location, comfort, cleanness, view
Petra is a really lovely village. It is very traditional and little changes from year to year. There is a choice of beaches - the main village beach and also Avlaki beach (our favourite) at one end of the village. There is an excellent range of bars and tavernas and the food at all the ones we tried was delicious. The ‘Caravan by the Sea’ (just a little further on from Avlaki beach) deserves a special mention - food and service are superb. There is a lovely friendly atmosphere in the village and it is a beautiful place to enjoy a relaxing break.
It is 5 mins away from Molyvos which is the Mykonos of the island. The beaches, restaurants and cafes are great and inexpensive. Met some travellers from England who have been visiting Lesvos for over 25 years and I now know why. Public transport to and from Petra is on time and very reliable.
I liked the village, I liked the houses, I found a wonderful tavern to eat (Zigos), the church on the rock is fabulous.I have been to many places, but most people I was impressed about Zigos tavern wich is not on the beach.Every day, no matter where we went, in other villages, on other beaches, we would return to eat at Zigos. The tavern is not on the main street but, attention is a signboard with the name of the location.Instead, too many stones on the beach, I preferred Anaxos beach.
Traditional old Greek village of character with winding cobbled streets built on a fertile coastal plain - so easy for walking!!. Plenty of facilities such as ATMs, minimarkets, taxis, buses to nearby resorts and free wifi and beds on the beach if you buy a drink. Sit in wonderful tavernas, especially along the seafront, built on wooden platforms onto the beach where you can listen to the waves as you eat and sip an ouzo or a local wine. Visit the church of Panagia Glykofilousa "Lady of the Sweet Kisses" and climb the 114 steps for a prayer or a wonderful view of the surrounding countryside. Not a place for thumping dance music and rowdy nightlife but a great base for older couples who want to soak up a more traditional Greek atmosphere and relax on a sandy beach with stunning sunset views.
A small village right on the coast with plenty of restaurants and bars and a god selection of supermarkets. Very quiet and relaxed pace of life. Good place as a base to explore most of the island with a car.
Petra is a charming and picturesque village. There are a few small mini-markets which are well stocked and well priced. A good range of tavernas. The cobbled streets and winding lanes are lovely but not so suitable for high heels!
