The location was excellent – not far from Chania Airport and very close to the center of Chania. It's a peaceful area with great restaurants and shops nearby, plus a little fruit stand just next door. The host was absolutely amazing! Her warm energy made us feel like we were visiting family on holiday. We felt truly at home – I can't remember ever experiencing such hospitality. As a welcome gift, we received delicious homemade apricots, ice cream, and even a small fan toy for our child. At breakfast, we had the chance to try some local homemade cheese, which was a lovely touch. The apartment was cleaned daily, very spacious, and beautifully decorated. You can walk to the beach in your swimsuit, where you'll find free sunbeds and beach towels waiting for you. Simply amaziiing!

Lovely restaurants and beach bars.

Lovely restaurants and beach bars. A great butchers with quality meat for a BBQ. The beach is beautiful with shallow clear water, lots of sunbeds outside bars and cafe's. The people who live and work there are so friendly and welcoming. Taxi ride to the beautiful Chania for €18 Would absolutely love to go back!

Stalos is a good holiday destination with the potential to...

Stalos is a good holiday destination with the potential to visit Western Crete and Chania Town itself as well as to enjoy the beach. It is less busy than nearby Platanias and Aghia Marina, however there are some decent authentic Greek restaurants in the area.

Massive thing i wish i knew before is the bus system is the cheapest form of travel to and from the Chania airport and is fairly quick and regular, prices starting from 2.50 euros .Stalos was a perfect destination for all age groups , clean , all the bars and restaurants are family/locally owned and all the people are freindly and polite . The beach is clean and easily accessible .

We reached from Heraklion to chania via bus and rented...

We reached from Heraklion to chania via bus and rented scooter. We reached property in the evening and visited harbor and lighthouse. Had a stroll through the street and had dinner. Next day (day 2) we went to visit monastery and seitan lamnia. It was a great day with a good ride and trekking. Highly recommendable to young people who like to face fear of heights and enjoy trekking. The beach was awesome. Came back, freshed up, enjoyed sunset in the nearby beach of Melina's House, had dinner from Indian Restaurant and came back. On day 3, we went to Starlos (turquoise beach), had a swim and came back by 11am, checked out by 12pm.

Stalos has some lovely family restaurants.

Stalos has some lovely family restaurants. We used the local supermarkets and shops so didnt need to travel for provisions. There is a good bus service to local beaches and shops if needed. After investigating nearby beaches we took a taxi to Iguana Beach regularly as there were sunbeds and a little cafe close by. We had a 9 year old with us so it was important to be on a safe beach with shallow waters. There are also lifeguards on the beach.

Very Greek with magnificent views of the bay.

Very Greek with magnificent views of the bay. Glorious sunsets. Local shops don’t stock much food at all - we got the impression the hotels ‘discourage’ it, which is not good for local tradespeople. Local economies are part of real sustainability so this is important.

The location is stunning, friendliness of all staff, the food and drink at the hotels little restaurant between beach and pool really nice. The room had absolutely everything. Good working air con, little kitchenette with equipment. Great drench shower, Fridge , safe box, tv, balcony. Only 16 rooms, therefore always plenty of sunbeds available on the beach. Got a little gift on departure, nice touch.

Stunning villa. Quiet in a peaceful environment but not far from restaurant and activity. The view of the villa is amazing and you find all you need in the house. The situation in Stalos is great as well to discovers west Crete. Not far from Hania. The owner Leuteris is flexible (late arrival, we could let our luggages in the house after check out…) and communication with him was easy.

Beautiful apartment and pool just across the road from the sandy beach in Stalos. Comfortable bed, nice bed linen and great shower! Really appreciated the lovely welcome from Antonis and Irini and how well we were looked after! Recommend booking breakfast. Short drive or easy 10 min bus trip to the centre of Chania. Hope to return soon!

Everything was just perfect! We stayed for 3 nights but we wish we have stayed much longer. The host was very kind, she made something sweet and when we came from the beach, we had such a beautiful surprise in the room. Everything was clean and we felt like home. We will return tot Anniko if we will come back tot Crete!
