The location was excellent – not far from Chania Airport and very close to the center of Chania. It's a peaceful area with great restaurants and shops nearby, plus a little fruit stand just next door. The host was absolutely amazing! Her warm energy made us feel like we were visiting family on holiday. We felt truly at home – I can't remember ever experiencing such hospitality. As a welcome gift, we received delicious homemade apricots, ice cream, and even a small fan toy for our child. At breakfast, we had the chance to try some local homemade cheese, which was a lovely touch. The apartment was cleaned daily, very spacious, and beautifully decorated. You can walk to the beach in your swimsuit, where you'll find free sunbeds and beach towels waiting for you. Simply amaziiing!

Lovely restaurants and beach bars. A great butchers with quality meat for a BBQ. The beach is beautiful with shallow clear water, lots of sunbeds outside bars and cafe's. The people who live and work there are so friendly and welcoming. Taxi ride to the beautiful Chania for €18 Would absolutely love to go back!

Stalos is a good holiday destination with the potential to...

Stalos is a good holiday destination with the potential to visit Western Crete and Chania Town itself as well as to enjoy the beach. It is less busy than nearby Platanias and Aghia Marina, however there are some decent authentic Greek restaurants in the area.

Massive thing i wish i knew before is the bus system is the cheapest form of travel to and from the Chania airport and is fairly quick and regular, prices starting from 2.50 euros .Stalos was a perfect destination for all age groups , clean , all the bars and restaurants are family/locally owned and all the people are freindly and polite . The beach is clean and easily accessible .

We reached from Heraklion to chania via bus and rented...

We reached from Heraklion to chania via bus and rented scooter. We reached property in the evening and visited harbor and lighthouse. Had a stroll through the street and had dinner. Next day (day 2) we went to visit monastery and seitan lamnia. It was a great day with a good ride and trekking. Highly recommendable to young people who like to face fear of heights and enjoy trekking. The beach was awesome. Came back, freshed up, enjoyed sunset in the nearby beach of Melina's House, had dinner from Indian Restaurant and came back. On day 3, we went to Starlos (turquoise beach), had a swim and came back by 11am, checked out by 12pm.

Stalos has some lovely family restaurants.

Stalos has some lovely family restaurants. We used the local supermarkets and shops so didnt need to travel for provisions. There is a good bus service to local beaches and shops if needed. After investigating nearby beaches we took a taxi to Iguana Beach regularly as there were sunbeds and a little cafe close by. We had a 9 year old with us so it was important to be on a safe beach with shallow waters. There are also lifeguards on the beach.

Very Greek with magnificent views of the bay.

Very Greek with magnificent views of the bay. Glorious sunsets. Local shops don’t stock much food at all - we got the impression the hotels ‘discourage’ it, which is not good for local tradespeople. Local economies are part of real sustainability so this is important.

We had a great time at this lovely hotel. It's in a nice, quiet area, but still close to some small resorts with shops and beach bars. Chania is easily accessible by a €15 taxi ride or a €2 bus journey. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The breakfast was really good, and we had a blast at the Greek night with music, dancing, and delicious food. The hotel, gardens, and pool are all clean and well-maintained, and the infinity pool is just stunning.

Very nice place.It way easy to get into Chania by bus .Close to plenty of nice tavernas and bars.The taverna at the hotel was very nice and good value for money,right next to the beach.The rooms were a good size and kept very clean,plenty of utensils for self catering also.Free sunbeds for residents on the beach and good pool if you don't like sand. A very good stay thank you to all at the Kato Stalos Mare.

Great value, very clean hotel in a great location right on the beach in Stalos with excellent staff. Lovely pool and plenty of sun beds. Yes the bathroom is small but you adapt quickly. Great views of the sea from the balcony and excellent air conditioning. Lots of good restaurants in the stalos area, a brilliant giros place opposite and an easy stroll into the old town for more excellent restaurants.

Everything! The property is private yet close to beautiful Chania, has wonderful beach and island views, is very clean and comfortable. Above all though is Georgio and his magnificent, warm and welcoming staff, they are so helpful with recommendations and getting the most out of your stay on Crete. Can’t praise them enough.
