Our host, Nena, spared no efforts to make our stay special. Having a great knowledge of the region, Nena was very generous taking time to help us plan in the best possible way the activities we wanted to do.
On top of this, we had a marvelous breakfast 😊

The house is in right in the centre of the village, near the square with its cafés, its excellent restaurant and its little village shop. It is a big plus that each bedroom has its own bathroom (with shower and toilet).
It is a traditional village house, well restored, with a certain rustic charm.
It is a great base for hiking in the area (and relaxing at the end of a tiring day!) We enjoyed the spectacular Greak Easter celebrations while we were there.

This is a really characterful, elegant, old Stemnista stonehouse. It’s very nicely furnished with books, paintings and traditional furniture. The kitchen is also well equipped. It’s in the centre of Stemnista with great views from the roof terrace. The main first floor living room is a lovely, light filled space.

We visited in late April keen to walk the Lousios Gorge between Demitsana and Stemnitsa. We booked a B&B in Stemnitsa having visited the previous day. The walk was strenuous (good footwear, sticks could be helpful, take supplies) but knowing we were staying overnight in Stemnitsa B&B meant we had plenty of time. Beautiful flowers and bird life in the gorge as well as monasteries to visit. Lucky with weather, beautiful views and good clear pathway. The signposting for the walk is good. Ask directions at the Water Mill Museum as we added an additional hour taking the wrong direction.
Stemnitsa is welcoming to visitors. Cafe on the square was really friendly helpful and served great coffee. Helped order a taxi back to Demitsana the following morning. Enjoyed an evening meal in local restaurant with helpful staff and busy atmosphere. Lovely town centre to explore and as the season progresses more shops/restaurants will open.

This is a perfect location if you are hiking the Lousios Gorge. You can start the hike from the hotel. We enjoyed just heading down the hill and right in to town to start the hike..just 5 min walk to the beginning of the trail.

The host was helpful and friendly, the accommodations are an old house in a beautiful village, and have been adapted for guests, so the place is heavy on atmosphere. But the shower stall was smallest I have ever seen, and almost unusable, the room was for a couple, but with separate single beds that could not be pushed together, and getting bags from parking to room required long steep climb up stairs and stone path. Not easy.

Stemnitsa is a beautiful mountain town, smaller and less touristy than Dimitsana. Dining within town is limited, but there are some good tavernas within driving distance. We liked how quiet it was--no tour buses, just the unique architecture and views and good access to trails.

The location of this village allows you to approach a few beautiful treks in a relatively short car drive so you can spend two or three days enjoying nature but also the village itself without much strain.
The house was amazing. A charming typical stone house just a minute from Stemnitsa square, it was perfect for our hiking group. It was warm, spacious, with a cute garden and all the facilities one would need. We were 8 people + a baby and fit comfortably in the house. We'd definately book this beautiful house again. The host was also kind and helpful and made check in and out really easy!
This is an beautiful property, decorated in a very traditional way. It is located in the centre of the village of Stemnitsa. The room we stayed was very spacious and comfortable. The host is very kind, helpful and enthusiastic about hosting guests. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to explore Stemnitsa.
Beautiful room, the host Panagiotis was very friendly and helpful. We were starting the Menalon trail and he arranged a taxi driver to deliver our bags to the next hotel while we hiked.
Delicious breakfast.
We regretted only booking one night. But will come back for a trip in the winter some time
We started hiking the Menalon trail from Stemnitsa and stayed at Gartagani. The guesthouse is beautiful, a lovely Arcadian stone house set on a hill overlooking the village, we loved our view from the room. Breakfast was abundant and delicious. We would definitely come back.
The guesthouse location in Stemnitsa is fantastic and the owner could not have been more helpful in supplying local knowledge and effort to make my stay comfortable.
