The house is perfect for 4-6 persons. Enough room to relax. The kitches is perfect to make meals for 6 people. We did love the walk from the house to the small lake close by. You walk through the center of Zarós and can stop by the mini market, the hakery or get some good coffee. Everyone is nice and inviting to you. And the suroundings, the nature and most of all the quietness at night and in the morning.

The village is peaceful, full of charm, and perfectly...

The village is peaceful, full of charm, and perfectly located for exploring Crete. It has everything you need within walking distance — a grocery store, bakery, crepe shop, and several places to eat. The people here are incredibly welcoming, and we experienced true Greek hospitality and kindness. It’s a place with character, where you can relax and enjoy local life, yet still be within easy driving distance of all the island’s main attractions.

I loved the serenity. It was a perfect escape from the City.

I loved the serenity. It was a perfect escape from the City. A night without the usual mod cons is quite OK. The trout from the local restaurants was perfect for dinner. I would suggest avoiding the heat of Summer.

Very peaceful location. Authentic unspoilt village. It was like stepping back in time. No touristy stuff at all..not even a souvenir shop as far as I could see.Surroundings are incredible. I was a solo traveller and felt very much at home there.. It'd a big draw for walkers..I just wanted to chill and enjoy the views .

Zaros is a village in the mountains ,it has the famouse lake of Zaros and the spring and the famous water of Zaros. It has traditional food and helpful lokal people. You can visit in the summer as well in the winter.

This came a bit randomly in our trip and we’re glad it did.

This came a bit randomly in our trip and we’re glad it did. We loved Zaros for both the warmth of its people and the beauty of its decor. Our hike in Rouvas was great and every encounter was like it was family members. One of the highlights of our trip to Creta. If you like getting closer to people and their culture it’s a must on your list. If you’re into more attractions or shopping this one is not for you.

A very nice area of olive groves and brush from 500 m up where you can go hiking right from the hotel (Agios Ethimnios, Rouvas Gorge) or from Lake Votomos. You can also visit monasteries (in particular Vrontisi monastery). Plenty of good and very affordable tavernas around.

The apartment is located in Kato Zaros, which is a smaller part of the main village (Zaros) in the southwest of the area. Quiet location with great views towards the mountains in the west and north of the area. Very spacious with two bedrooms and a large kitchen/living area and a nice balcony facing west. Everything needed was present. Contact with the host was via messages only (key in a locker box), but Christos is very helpful and answers on requests quickly.

This family-run hotel is an absolute gem. We had economy rooms so no frills but they were big and had everything we needed. The shared hotel facilities were outstanding - beautiful grounds, views, pool, bar etc. The breakfast was fresh and delicious with loads of choice. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The attached restaurant/ trout farm served up great food at very reasonable prices.

Warm welcome by the friendly owners with home made local delicacies and tour around the house. Very quite location, with a lovely view from the terras on the Zaros mountains. The house is spacious, clean and all equipment is available. Excellent place to feel the authenticity of this very charming village and good base to explore the environment.
