Hotel Lafodia is located on the car-free, scenic and tranquil Lopud Island which features 0.7 mi of sandy beaches. We loved our time in Lafodia! The staff was super helpful, the rooms extremely comfortable, and the island was a paradise. We particularly enjoyed the boat ride that we got through the hotel. They also provided chocolates for us upon our arrival in honor of our honeymoon. There is also a transfer service directly to the Dubrovnik airport, yet slightly expensive. They even stored our bags for free after we checked out until we left the island.
Ideally located in this remarkable waterfront setting Hotel Glavović invites you to experience the charm of Lopud island away from the tourist crowds. This has been for sure one of our best hotel experiences, if not the best. The location is dreamy, they gave us a room with a balcony and amazing views, and it was clean and had a really comfortable bed, which we could enjoy even more because of the sound of the sea at night. All the staff were friendly and available and they provided us every single morning with a delicious breakfast of fresh food (some of it from their own garden). We felt super welcome. We can't recommend this place enough and we can't wait to come back!
Located in Lopud, Apartments Ana is 295 feet from the Adriatic Sea. It offers self-catering apartments and studios with a balcony, sea views and free WiFi access. Excellent location - away from the hustle of the harbor, nice view to the sea, on the way to Sunj beach. Will gladly return in the future for another vacation.
Located on the island of Lopud, Guest House Zec is surrounded with greenery and provides air-conditioned accommodations with free WiFi access. Sunj Beach is about 0.6 mi away. The location was a very easy short walk to Lopud beach and Bay. We loved the fact that the beach, bars and restaurants were so close. The property, although not luxury had all that we needed and plenty of space and was very comfortable for our week on the island.
Set in Lopud, a 16-minute walk from Beach Sunj, Guest House Tomić features a garden and a terrace. At Guest House Tomić, rooms have a desk, flat-screen TV and sea view. Warm welcome from this who met with us on arrival Clean accommodation and room was cleaned everyday of our week stay
Skipper's Suite in Lopud offers accommodations with free WiFi, a 16-minute walk from Beach Sunj. This apartment features a shared sun terrace. We absolutely loved Skippers Suite. It’s right in the centre of town and has a unique beach front location. We have been swimming in the crystal clear bay every day. We’ve also been exploring the island on foot which has been delightful.
Lopud is a lovely quiet place with no cars. The vehicles used are of the 'golf buggy' type. The beach at Sunj is lovely and shallow so safe for small children. Walking is a must to get to explore the island. It's approximately 1.5km by road over a quite a steep hill to get from the town on one side to Sunj beach at the other. We walked the journey as it was pleasant to do so, however the 'taxi's' are waiting to take people if mobility is compromised or you don't fancy the hike over the hill! The town has several restaurants of varying quality offering similar foods. There are also a couple of mini-markets to purchase your own supplies. Not a great lot of choice but sufficient to keep you going. The bakery near to the Hotel Lafodia does superb cakes and pastries. There are quite a lot of steps to climb if you want to go exploring further out of the town. It's worth the climb to the fortress to get the view. In addition, if you want to explore further afield there are ferries operating to get to Dubrovnik and the other islands nearby. I would visit the island again as we like smaller less populated places. Having said that, Sunj beach is well know and lots of people came in boats for day trips.
Very laid back island with beautiful scenery and plenty of interesting walks. There is one sandy beach with safe swimming and also bathing off the small beaches in the main centre. There are no busses, cars or motor bikes on the island but transport is available in small golf type buggies. Plenty of restruants but dining can be expensive.
Fabulous scenery, close to busy Dubrovnik, fabulous sunj beach with water sports at a reasonable price, handy taxi buggy service to and from for approximately €2 each way, well worth avoiding the hills in the heat. Lovely restaurants all along the waterside, plenty of walks if you have the energy! Lovely staff, food and service at Obala Restaurant
The island is popular with "day" visitors who arrive on a fleet of boats from Dubrovnik in the morning. At 6pm the last of the visitors leave and the island returns to its quiet, peaceful state. Essentially there is one large hotel and a good range of restaurants and bars that are busy during the day but much quieter in the evenings. Sunj beach offers safe bathing and unusually for Croatia a large sandy bay.
Think 1 week would probably be long enough on the island- it is idyllic but would be nice to experience some of the other islands. It was further from Dubrovnik than I had thought- it was an hour on the ferry which was also not v regular eg Lopud to Dubrovnik- there is one around 7:00am and then the next at midday- not ideal timing for sightseeing. The Island is definitely not very suitable for anyone with a mobility problem- there is a lot of walking, some steep and lots of steps The panoramic view as you come round the bay to the island is amazing as are the sunsets. Our accommodation was excellent and Nico the owner was very welcoming and totally obliging Thoroughly enjoyed our holiday on this special island😊😊😎😎
I loved that there are no cars. A beautiful seafront, lovely restaurants and not too busy. You could move around with ease, get there easily from Dubrovnik. I saw/heard a Piano Trio (world class) at the St Nicholas Church, kayaked/biked to Sipan Island, walked the island, could hire bikes. It was brilliant, would come back.
We had asked the owner to arrange private transfers in advance of the holiday. This was in the form of a private taxi, then a boat to take us to the island of Lopud. On arrival we were collected by the son of the owner from the quayside and delivered to the Villa along with all our cases. We were shown up to our apartment which consisted of a kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. It also had a lovely balcony with a sea view and sun loungers and table & chairs. In the fridge there were a couple of bottles of chilled sparkling water and a couple of cans of beer (Much appreciated after the journey). During the week the hostess also prepared some cakes and left these for us to enjoy, as well as providing us with a bottle of wine and fresh picked grapes. A lovely and much appreciated gesture.

A nice little hotel in a very good location, with very nice hosts.
