IrelandSton is a fascinating place. Our visit in June was relatively tourist free, a great sense of real Croatia. We were given excellent advice on where to go. We ate at their restaurant every night, oysters and fish are wonderful, house white wine good too. All served by helpful, friendly, efficient staff. The village is surrounded by a walled fortress and castle. The museum about white gold and grounds are very interesting. Parking is free organised by our lovely hostess. Thank you!

This apartmant was very nice and comfortable.
This apartmant was very nice and comfortable. We didn´t need to travel far away to the beach because we were there in just 5 minutes walk. We would like to go back to this apartmant. The owner was kind to us, openly communicated and always answeard to everyhing we asked him.

We loved Ston!
We loved Ston! The little town and the wall walk were awesome. We loved our location and the restaurant was delicious! Our room was very good. All the people in the town that we met were wonderful and many people helped us out when our car broke down. We had a great time!

Ston was an interesting place to break up the trip from Split to Dubrovnick. It was a disappointment as far as the oysters were concerned, being the oyster center for Croatia. They were just
extremely expensive and there were no deals to enjoy them at a
decent price. If we had more time we would have gone to an island
instead...

We really enjoyed our time in Ston, it is nice and small, yet full of amazing history and things to do. The hike up the wall of Ston to Mali Ston was great and not too difficult. Beautiful sights from the top!

Historic town with impressive (and impressively long) walls.
Historic town with impressive (and impressively long) walls. Ston is a much smaller, calmer, quieter, and more authentic version of many of the overly touristy walled old towns along the coast. Large sections are still not renovated however. The town has a few shops but mostly cafes/restaurants and locals housing. Lacks the luxury shops and glitz of Dubrovnik but also the crowds. A bit overpriced to walk the walls but presumably the entry fee helps with further repairs and restoration. The (still) working salt flats are interesting and they have opportunities to join in the harvesting. The city parking lots outside the walls are all paid which seems shortsighted and silly if they really want to bring in tourism.

Loved the quiet location, so close to the water. The verandah out the front was a little bit of heaven watching the world go by and saying hello to neighbours. The airconditioning was exceptional. The kitchen was well stocked, good barbeque. Close proximity to Ston. Parking right outside.

Our best stay in Croatia! The host was brilliant and offered us painkillers and laundry detergent upon request. We loved our room! Beautiful stone building, first class modern inside. Close to the stone wall in Ston. Perfection!

I loved the peaceful quiet town. The apartment had everything you needed. The hosts were amazing and so responsive. They even brought us up Oysters to try....so delicious. Close to Ston and amenities.
