Absolutely beautiful property. Staff and service were top notch, and in light of the special occasion of our travels, they went out of their way to make us feel welcome and at home. This is like staying at a 5 star hotel that happens to also be an art exhibit and museum all in one. Honestly wish i could have stayed for way longer, 1 night was not nearly enough.

We came to Malang, to show my grandson where my father was...

We came to Malang, to show my grandson where my father was taken prisoner of war in March 1942. We also came here to get to the top of the Bromo volcano and watch the sunrise from the edge of the crater. For the rest there is not much to see in Malang, except for the country side. We have been shopping for two flashlights to use during our climb to the top of the Bromo volcano during the night and we were pleasantly surprised to find a super modern shopping mall with shops representing all the world known brand names. Forgot the name of this shopping mall.

Malang is unknown and unexplored, yet it is a great town for...

Malang is unknown and unexplored, yet it is a great town for a quiet get away. There are many good restaurants, a few markets to explore a few ancient temples to visit, never mind the many hikes. There is Mount Bromo and then there is Batu. For me I prefer the quiet short walks and a swim in the pool. Tourism here is geared to the local tourist and foreigners are rare.

Malang was definitely an amazing experience. we walked downtown and visited the heritage village, what an amazing place!! we also went to this beautiful restaurant called ( SaigonSan ) which looks like a temple form the inside . the food is really good and unexpectedly affordable. and of course would recommend the Bromo, Ejin and Tumpak sewu tours . otally worth it especially the waterfalls

Malang us a small city with a pleasant climate.

Malang us a small city with a pleasant climate. Recently improved the city facilitys. Kajoe Tanggung is an area with a lot of cafes and eaterys. Very nice environment at night. For trips there are a few daytrips, which involves a lot of travel time.

Travelled for work, have had many trips for 3-6 weeks in Malang this year. It is a lively city, very busy and densely packed. There are some good bars and restaurants for westerners to visit, it's worth asking around as places close and new ones open up so online guides aren't always accurate. Climate is always warm, either warm and dry, or warm and rainy! People are very friendly, and the cost of living is very cheap compared to western prices. Local food is good, can be quite spicy as they do like chillies.

Nice places to visit, but lack of infrastructure.

Nice places to visit, but lack of infrastructure. Mount Bromo, one of the best attractions is only reached by Jeeps, in fact, very old cars, no seat belt, no comfort at all, if you are more than 1.8 m tall, as me, you will be no room for your legs, and have to stary more than 5 hours like a sardine in a can. Too bad, the volcanos are wonderful and the beauty of the area breath taking.

The hotel is super central in Malang and within walking distance from the train station. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. I even forgot my headphones in the room and they placed them at the reception. The breakfast was huge and super delicious. They even called us so that we do not miss the breakfast. The dinner in the Sky Lounge is also super tasty and very affordable. We can fully recommend to stay there.

This was our second snooze hotel in Java and we were very happy with the snooze in Malang, it met all our needs and was in a great location. The staff were also very friendly and helpful in organizing a driver for our trip in east java. They were communicative before we arrived and when we were there which helped so much! Recommend Snooze for your stay in Malang and we’d definitely stay again!

The staff is very friendly and the hotel itself has everything what is to expect from a luxury hotel. They have an inhouse restaurant, spa and pool outside. The room was equipped with a dental kit, shower gel and shampoo. The view was nice, since you see the pool in blue light and behind the roofs of Malang (we were located in the 5th floor).

Ibis Malang was better than other Ibis hotels I've stayed in. Room was clean, beds were comfy, hot water in the shower, cold and hot (kettle in room) drinking water provided. They also focus on sustainability. Staff was great. WiFi worked really well. I'd consider staying here if I drop by malang again!
