IndiaThis was by far the worst hotel stay experience of my life. As a globe trotter and a solo traveler since 2005, I have stayed in luxury hotels to budget hotels to bed and breakfasts to Airbnbs, but this was the worst.
The hotel staff isn't trained, is rude, unhelpful, non-co-operative. There was no hot water. The phone wasn't working and was replaced twice. One of the numbers - (the room service number) wasn't working. I had to go up and down the room to the reception to ask for help on day 2 of my cycles on the day I arrived. There was no breakfast laid out in the morning. When I asked for fruits, they didn't have a single fruit in their kitchen! So one of their kind staff members took me to a fruit stall on his bike at 7:30 am.
The manager has no clue what's going on in the hotel. He tried to help but he has no managerial skills to handle the staff members. He had no hold on them and the staff was not well-instructed or trained. He even tried to hug me on a friendly basis even after I refused to. That was the final nail in the coffin for me.
There was someone abusing just outside my room when I asked the manager to not allow smoking cigarette. The smoke was overwhelmingly strong and covered every inch of my room. I am allergic to smoking and it gives me a headache. When I asked to stop and requested to move the person elsewhere. Initially, the manager said that it was his brother who had come to stay. Later he denied and said that it was some other guest. Later he put the blame of abusing outside my room on one of his newly joined technical staff members. It was ridiculous to see so many lies piling up one after the other.
I had asked them to not charge me for the night I arrived because of all the inconvenience due to no hot water, no phone, going up and down the stairs for help, rude staff members. Please note, even after day one of my stay, there ws still no hot water.
