My recent stay at Ekantha Ala was nothing short of exceptional! Though it was just a one-night stay, it felt like pure bliss. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the resort’s tranquil lakeside setting and stunning views. The resort offers a truly authentic Kerala experience — from the warm hospitality to the mouthwatering local cuisine. The food was outstanding, especially the Kerala-style fish curry meals with freshly caught Karimeen (Pearl Spot), a local delicacy. Be sure to order your meals in advance to savor the full range of flavors this place has to offer. A major highlight was the boating experience in traditional country boats, which took us through the calm waters of Vembanad Lake. The ride offered breathtaking views and a glimpse into village life across three districts — Kottayam, Ernakulam, and Alappuzha. Our visit to Magic Island was unforgettable: standing in knee-deep water in the middle of the lake while watching the mesmerizing hues of the sunset was truly magical. Do check tide levels with the boatman to plan this trip at the right time. Kids had a great time too, especially with the angling activity. Catching Karimeen fish was a fun and refreshing experience — a welcome break from screen time. Every aspect of our stay was top-notch: • Accommodation: Clean, well-maintained rooms with rustic charm • Food: Flavorful, authentic local cuisine • Staff: Friendly, polite, and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort The serene surroundings, especially during sunrise and sunset, were absolutely splendid. It’s the kind of place that allows you to disconnect, unwind, and truly relax — a much-needed escape from the stress of daily life. I highly recommend Ekantha Ala to anyone seeking a peaceful and rejuvenating lakeside retreat.

My first preference was vicinity to temple and this property is just aside. Room is exceptionally clean with neat toilet and clean towels. I found everything fine here. Value for money and I strongly recommend.

We loved our stay there, and we would absolutely come back again. The staff was very helpful and prepared very delicious meals every day upon request. If you want to relax in nature and get to know the local cuisine without going out - this hotel will be a great choice! They also offer cool boat tours for birdwatching

A really great homestay at a beautiful location. Surrounded by greenery in a serene atmosphere, it's an ideal location to visit to switch off from the daily grind and relax in a peaceful environment. Mrs. Renu, Mr. Binu and Mr. Ramachandran were all great hosts, friendly and were helpful in quickly resolving any issues that arose during the stay. I highly recommend this homestay for anyone looking for a reasonably priced homestay near Vaikom Mahadeva temple or Kumarakom. .

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality by our wonderful hosts, Mr. Binu and Ms. Renu. Their kindness and attention to detail made us feel right at home. The homestay is nestled in a serene and lush green setting, perfect for anyone looking to relax and reconnect with nature. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged with traditional touches that reflect the essence of Kerala. A special mention must go to Surendran, Rathi, and the rest of the staff, who were incredibly courteous and always ready to help with a smile. Whether it was arranging local experiences, serving delicious homemade meals, or simply engaging in warm conversation, they made every moment memorable. Location and layout of the hotel, Looks great from photos, but quite Run down property and staff need more training on the hospitality side. Gym machine are all written and rusted, dont even bother going there. Swimming pool in a poor condition.
