Very nice personnel, comfortable room and cosy shared spaces like winter garden and canteen. Pleasant surprise with complimentary snacks and tea/coffee 24/7.

At the beginning of our journey around Iceland, we spent two nights at this hotel and wished we could have stayed longer. However, our itinerary required us to continue exploring other parts of the island. Unexpectedly, our flight home was later canceled, and we needed to spend one additional night before leaving Iceland. Choosing Black Beach Hotel again was an easy decision. There are many reasons why we returned: 1. The location is exceptional. Situated by the ocean, it offers breathtaking views, complete tranquility, and convenient access to many of the area’s attractions. 2. The peaceful atmosphere of the hotel truly touched our souls. The silence, calmness, and sense of escape were exactly what we came to Iceland to experience. During our stay, there were no children at the hotel, which further contributed to the quiet and relaxing environment. For guests seeking tranquility and a chance to disconnect from the pace of everyday life, this was an added benefit. 3. The rooms and facilities are excellent—spotlessly clean, thoughtfully designed, and furnished with stylish, high-quality pieces that create a comfortable and welcoming environment. 4. Every member of staff we encountered during our stays was friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful. A special thank you to Nikola from the restaurant team. Her calm, positive, and warm demeanor perfectly reflects the spirit of the hotel. 5. The breakfast was both delicious and satisfying, and all of the meals and drinks we enjoyed during our stay were of a consistently high standard. Overall, our experience exceeded our expectations. Returning for a second stay within the same trip only confirmed our initial impression: this is a truly special place, and one that we would happily recommend to anyone visiting Iceland.

Felt right at home as soon as we walked in and immediately asked our host to stay an extra night we loved it so much. Such cute cosy cabins on a beautiful property and very close to town whilst still feeling secluded. The spa was so easy to use and fills up with fresh geothermal water in 30 minutes, you don’t even need to go to one of the lagoons haha. Facilities (shower, kitchen) were great, stayed in a few cabins on our trip so these details were actually important as other cabins we stayed in didn’t have great kitchen facilities or the shower was leaking water all over the floor so these details made a difference :) The host Sabine was so lovely and communicative.

It’s proximity to the best tourist site

Cabin on a farm next to horse paddocks. Loved looking out over the fields to the horses! There were over half a dozen foals and lovely to watch them gambling so close to the cabin. Very quiet, no traffic or people noise, only the sounds of birds, horses and the wind. Kitchenette well equipped with coffee maker and condiments, cooked a few breakfasts and dinners including a BBQ dinner on the third night we were there. Bathroom was modern and roomy. Krissa was a wonderful host, thank you for making our stay enjoyable! Excellent location to base ourselves for visits to Thingvellir NP, Vestmannaeyjar and Hveragerði for hot springs and horse riding.

Easy check in guidance from Kirsten. Perfect location. Comfortable beds, nice living room to chill and socialise, whilst prepping the evening meal. We used other accommodation during our Iceland visit, but this was my favourite 😍. There is hot tub and washing machine too but we did not used them.

Fantastic rural location but easy access to Selfoss for beautiful evening dining. The accomodation was warm, lovely decor well stocked kitchen with all the utensils.
