LithuaniaThe room was comfortable and cozy. The lobby has a coffee/tea station with biscuits and fruit available almost 24/7, which was a nice touch. The breakfast is really good. There are two hot tubs open until 10 pm, perfect for relaxing. The hotel itself feels very warm and welcoming, and since it’s located in a darker area, we were even lucky enough to catch some northern lights right from there!

We were greeted by a big very friendly cat like “Garfield”.
Stayed 4 nights and we were privileged with awesome northern lights display for 3 nights. Amazing stay.

United KingdomEasy check in guidance from Kirsten. Perfect location. Comfortable beds, nice living room to chill and socialise, whilst prepping the evening meal. We used other accommodation during our Iceland visit, but this was my favourite 😍. There is hot tub and washing machine too but we did not used them.

The staff was very friendly, the breakfast was exceptional, During northern light they switched off the lights, so there was no light polution, Additional bonus from the hotel was that they had a horse stables and the one was able to go there, pet them take a photos, and it was absolutely relaxing, Loved it

This was a perfect place for us to stay on our last night in...
This was a perfect place for us to stay on our last night in Iceland. We wanted to be closer to the airport, but didn't want to stay in Reykjavik so the location was a big draw for us. We thoroughly enjoyed going to the Raufarhólshellir lava tube, also in the area, so staying here let us continue exploring Iceland while also preparing for our flight home.

Lovely, cosy cabin/cottage with all the facilities you could wish for and very tastefully decorated. Akurgerdi is in a great location with amazing views, close to all the amenities & shops of Selfoss (10 mins drive away) and golden circle highlights. A short walk/drive to the neighbouring viking restaurant Ingólfsskáli which is a must if you stay at Akurgerdi. Our host Sabine was very helpful and informative even to the point of telling us when the Northern lights were making an appearance. The only downside is that we weren't able to stay longer! Would definitely recommend and would love to be able to stay again.
