We stayed in the suburbs and it was very friendly, everything we needed was a short walk away. the town itself is beautiful once you get into the old town: fountains, shady parks and historical buildings - including the main cathedral. The mountain view is stunning they surround the town in a semicircle and because the town is elevated you do not feel the heat as much as down in venice.

First visited Belluno when I was 18years old (I’m now 70!)

First visited Belluno when I was 18years old (I’m now 70!) My mother-in -law was Italian and we still have relatives living there. It has changed a lot over the years and now it is a lot more touristy, but a lot of nice shops and restaurants. Has a lot of beautiful places to visit nearby and people are lovely and friendly.

Belluno is a stunning town.

Belluno is a stunning town. You are always surrounded by spectacular mountains and the beautiful turquoise colour of the river. Considering the size of the town there are many excursions available a short distance away and the local cuisine does not disappoint! There are many restaurants and cafes in close proximity to Piazza dei Martiri (Martyrs' Sq). While we were there we had the opportunity to experience the carbonara festival which was a delight! Loved the fact that we had no issues with crowds or traffic which was a welcome surprise. And loved the small town intimacy.

Small city, very well connected to other cities (2h with the train to Vienna), to ski resorts (45 min to Alleghe, 1h to San Pellegrino, 1.5h to Araba/Sella Ronda). The city has a small city center, good for walks and a good coffee, I totally recommend Japan House and La Trappola for eating, there is also a huge supermarket (Emisfero), a shoe shop (Pittarello), sport stores (Non Solo Sports and Kiwi), cosmetics shop (Tigota) and all these surrounded by beautiful mountains. Loved it!

It was a great stay in Belluno Hotel for four people (two rooms). Breakfast was really good, personnel was friendly and explained everything nicely.
