The hosts provided a lovely bottle of home made wine & some other bits & pieces including home grown tomatoes from the hosts dad which we cooked with that evening. Location was excellent, hosts were lovely, dog & cats were lovely. We think this may be as close to Italian living as you are going to get :-)

Great location, in the center of the old town, but at the calm and quiet street. Very nice hotel - you can feel the atmosphere of old italian city. Nice and clean rooms. Really great breakfast! But the priceless is staff - they make you feel very good and taken care of :)

It’s a comfortable hotel with really great staff. Everyone we dealt with was very friendly and helpful and we got some good recommendations of restaurants and things to do in wonderful Lucca old town which was a short walk away. Easy parking over the road. The pool was great to have in the hot July weather, breakfast was good with a variety of choices and our room was comfy and more than big enough - we liked all the shelving which gave us lots of unpacking space.

We had an amazing stay at Tenuta di Tramonte. Lorenzo and his wife were incredible hosts, welcoming, kind and knowledgeable about the area and surrounding towns. Both our room and the common areas were beautiful, clean and tastefully decorated. We really enjoyed all the meals we had on the property, made from local produce from the estate. We would love to visit again and would recommend this for anyone’s stay in Lucca without hesitation!

One of the best places we have ever stayed in in Italy. Palazzo Alexander is a beautiful and very friendly place with attention to detail. You could feel that this hotel is family owned. From the moment we entered the door we were met by a both friendly and professional atmosphere. We felt so welcome and cared for all through our four nights stay. Our room was spacious and - very important as Lucca was going through a cold snap - properly insulated and heated; this can sometimes be an issue in hotels in Italy, but not here. The included breakfast was sumptious: Besides a well equipped buffet they brought us freshly cooked eggs and bacon, freshly squeezed orange juice and coffee and a selection of local cold cuts straight from the kitchen to our table. One night as we were on our way out for dinner the rain was belting down and we didn't have an umbrella (forget it in Pisa); the friendly receptionist just lent us his - thank you!
