The rooms are large and well appointed and extremely clean modern enough while remaining authentic and their local knowledge was amazing. Leni is a great place to base yourself if you want to...
Leni is a great place to base yourself if you want to explore the Aeolian Islands over a week or so. Rinella port is 30-45mins walk, 05mins drive/bus away. Salina is best-placed for day trips to all the other islands in the archipelago. There's a great shop in Leni, and a couple of wonderful restaurants (especially Il Dus) as well as plenty of places to eat down the hill in Rinella. I'd also recommend Enza Car Hire. They did a great job for us, and you'll need a car ideally to explore Salina.

Rinella in June was very quiet with not many restaurants to choose from.
There was one clothes shop,one grocery shop and one tabbachi.
If you don’t have a car, ferry, taxi or Citi bus is the only way to get about - or hiking of course. The bus I think is cheapest but we didn’t use it because we were mostly island hopping. 10 minute ride on ferry to Santa Marina Salina seemed expensive for the trip but I think it gets more expensive at certain popular times of the day.
This is a quieter, more remote place to do the hopping (with the extra 10 min journey always tagged on the end from Santa Marina) so if you want a little bit more buzz choose one of the other islands or Santa Marina.
Personally, we liked the vibe on Vulcano and loved Stromboli. (Stromboli is probably not the best base for island hopping though as it is the furthest one away). Lipari is big and bustling and didn’t feel like island-life but if you like that sort of thing, it’s a great base.
On the whole we enjoyed our choice of base at Rinella. It was a good ‘getaway from it all’ place, where we were forced to do extremely little- when not venturing.

This is a fantastic hotel, with incredible views over the Med and Mount Etna in the distance. Everything was beautiful: immaculate rooms, open balconies, the light, surroundings, village of Leni, nature and the hospitality was amazing. Truly recommended, we'd like to come back. Easy central location to travel around Salina using public transport.

Lovely family-run hotel in Rinella. The staff is really kind, they made freshly baked cake every morning and delicious homemade jams of lemon and orange. Marco was very helpful for any necessities and even arranged a cannolo with candles for my partner’s birthday. the hotel is just a little gem in the island!

Incredible place on the seafront in the peaceful village of Rinella. The rooms with private terraces are worth the money and the hotel provides great recommendations for what to do on the island.
Really appreciated the luggage pick up service at the ferry port too and the staff were very helpful.

Comfortable room and well equipped. The restaurant terrace is lovely and with an amazing view. The location of the hotel is quiet and truly beautiful. Staff was very good too.
