This is a continuation of my review of Holidays Cefalu B&B. “Holidays Cefalu is an outstanding property with excellent, caring owners and staff.” The family and staff are the nicest, most accommodating, helpful and generous people we met during our time in Italy and Sicily. Holidays Cefalu is family owned and operated. The dad, Gioacchino aka Jack, welcomed us for both of our stays. He is a very charming gentleman. His daughter, Francesca, is a lovely young lady with a beautiful warm smile. Francesca helped us in so many ways. This included the train schedule, best places to go shopping and suggestions on restaurants/cafes. Note: for the best authentic Sicilian ariancini go to Gallizza Rosticceria, a quick 5-minute walk from the B&B. It was the best! A delicious breakfast of breads, salami, cheese, fruit, cereal, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt and melt-in-your-mouth warm croissants along with freshly, made-to-order coffee is served every day on a comfortable, covered outdoor garden patio area. Our last morning of our second stay was an early one for us. We had to catch the early train to Palermo. Gioacchino and their morning staff, one lovely woman (I’m so sorry I do not know her name.) came in early so we could have breakfast before our travels. The B&B is near everything… the railway station, an excellent big and clean supermarket, Gourmet Deco Cefalu, the beach, the promenade and historical centre. You can easily and safely walk everywhere in Cefalu and we did! They went to extra mile for us. I’m sure they do for all their guests. Holidays Cefalu is a great place to stay, in a perfect location with fantastic views and most importantly, helpful and friendly owners and staff. Grazie mille! We can’t wait to stay at Holidays Cefalu again!
We love Palermo, beautiful old city, wonderful food, not easy to get around other areas in Sicily, we had trouble in Syracuse and noto, no one would help us
Cefalu was our last stopover and we were hesitating to stay over in a city after our experiences in Palermo and Milazzo (which unfortunately left us with little to desire). But Cefalu was a very pleasant surprise; as we walked from our hotel to the main city centre; rippling blue sea greeted us and the first and only sandy beach we visited in Sicily; it had a lovely vibe beautiful people and great sand and amazing surf! The main town was spectacular to walk around; mouthwatering restaurants lined everywhere with great views of the Med.
Loved Palermo, our gateway to Sicily. Crowded, noisy, a bit scary at first around our fabulous apartment next to the Ballaro Market but once we got our bearings nothing was scary and all the people were so helpful and friendly. We went up to Monreale to see the cathedral....fabulous excursion by local bus. We listened to a very talented violinist busking in the rain under the Porto Nuovo. We spent a few idle hours 'people watching' from our balcony, as in the street below kids came and went from school, customers bought eggs from a tiny shop in an old guy's front window andmotorbikes/cars/cyclists vied for space with pedestrians in the narrow cobbled streets. There is an excellent restaurant called 'molti Volti' just next to our apartment and the Ballaro which features photographs and artwork of those 'many faces' and is linked with helping immigrants integrate to the city.
Lots to see & do, easy to walk round, lots of great places to eat or while away an hour or two on the pavement. Good prices. Easy 20 minute trip on Alibus from airport to centre. Good hub for getting elsewhere in Sicily. Accommodation staff welcoming & helpful.
It's the people that really make Palermo, passionate, friendly and very loud ! One must see destination .....the Capello Palatino .....and of course it's bigger brother t in Monreale. Street markets are fun .... but we felt a couple of days sacr !ificing before moving on to the rest of Sicily. And don't even think of driving in the city
An interesting city with a Parisian feel, although lacking the antiquity of other places in Sicily, a couple of earthquakes have seen to that, well worth a visit.
Pozzallo is a beach town on the south coast of Sicily. Many People come to Pozzallo because the beach is endless and there are many Restaurants in the area. Pozzallo is also known as the port from where travellers can take a catameran to Malta the rocky Island Republic where almost everybody speaks english
Palermo is a city with great potential. Amazing history and heritage, fantastic food. Walking around The city centre makes you dive into the variety of cultures that have been shaped Sicily for centuries.
Great choice of restaurants and bars. Great shops. Quite an experience and atmosphere and great views once you are up there. Catching the bus from Giardini Naxos sometimes one or two “full” buses would pass-by at peak times. But a taxi from the station is only 15 euros. It’s long and steep and hard going if you attempt to walk up Taormina. I think I saw it described on one of the reviews as scenic. Maybe we went the wrong way but it seemed to be along windy and busy roads with no pavements. We tried it once but wouldn’t do it again (bear in mind we are young-ish and fit and like walking!!) We didn’t hire a car and didn’t miss it. I imagine driving up into Taormina, navigating around the winding narrow roads, and finding parking would be quite a nightmare. There’s also a cable car on the other side of the mountain. Recommend Etna tour and winery visit. Booked through Sicily Life. We had a lovely lunch in RossoPeperoncino and also we recommend porta Messina pizzeria.

very comfortable, clean, spacious and nice equipped apartment with amazing terrace with views to sea, Sicily and continental Italy coasts. the apartment was cleaned each day, garbage was taken out. once in 4 days towels were changed. amazing service! we did not expect that and we think it is not necessary, but we appreciate that. the breakfast is a cup of coffee and croissant, muffin or a piece of cake. we ate something in apartment, and then went down to bar to have such a dessert:) very good location to visit Taormina and Etna by car.

Very lovely accomodation in a big apartment (with two rooms), spacious bathroom, small but very cute balcony with a nice view. The owner was very welcoming and helpful with anything we need!! Breakfast was absolutely delicious with home made marmelades, pies, fruits, cheese, ham or eggs. Very various compared to the other breakfast in the Sicily. The hotel is perfectly located in the city center, close the harbour (app 5 minutes walk) and a lot of restaurants. We really enjoyed are stay here and I have to recommend it!

This apartment is located on the 11th floor of a large apartment building. We had FANTASTIC views of the Greek Monuments and the Ocean from our large balcony. This large apartment even had a washing machine!!!! The bed was extremely comfortable (memory foam) and had extra pillows (quite a luxury in Sicily and Italy). The large bathroom had a great shower and even a large bathtub. A large, fully equipped kitchen had all the necessities. Out of three weeks in Sicily and Calabria, this was the best place we stayed.
9.4 Superb 88 reviews
This is a brand new, sparkling clean property, purpose-built as a hotel. The manager, Fabrizio, is a great communicator and problem solver. This unit three pleasant surprises - a breakfast buffet (must be the best in Italy) is as good as it looks 0nthe photos, beds with memory foam mattresses (best sleep in Sicily), and, just across the road is a pizzeria/restaurant with plenty of parking which is frequented by locals; it in a renovated villa, which was used as a wedding venue one night of our stay.

Tenuta del Nanfro is a beautiful and tranquil place on a wine estate 5 km south of Caltagirone, perfect for vacation in peace. Concetto, the owner, and the whole team are doing their best to pamper their guests - you are feeling like at home :-) Breakfast was extraordinary compared to other B&B's or Hotels in Italy. We stayed for 1 week and had dinner with them 3 times as well, which was great. A Beautiful, relaxing and lovely place to stay for vacation in Sicily - we defintily come again!

Like much of Sicily, the building is probably early 18th century but the interior renovations are quite lovely. The apartments are artistically decorated with great attention to quality and detail. We were offered a choice of typical Sicilian pastries for breakfast. Location is excellent for sightseeing in Palermo. Parking was available at a nearby garage but we were able to snag a spot on the street in front and pay by the hour. It's free from 8pm to 8am so it worked out better for us.

It was our first stay upon arrival in Sicily and we were not disappointed. The hotel itself is very charming and old palazzo style but refurbished and comfortable, exactly what we were hoping for. The decor is nice traditional local flavor. Our room was a good size, good bed and nice bathroom. The staff was really helpful with recommendations for restaurants and places to see, even the waiter gave us his opinion about things to do. Thank you for such a nice experience.

We spent two weeks travelling around Sicily and the main point about Vulcano Island is that it is expensive! For the price we paid at Hotel Al Togo for a small room, we could stay in a large two bedroom apartment with a pool and kitchen on the east of Sicily. Al Togo staff are friendly and accommodating and the pool was very enjoyable with plenty of space for everyone. The resort is peaceful, clean and beds comfortable, although it is quite basic for the price paid.

It was awesome. Hostel owner Francesco, Hanna and all the hostel staffs are so nice. This is worth everything. I just asked the place which I want to go if it is open , and we went there four people. Hostel owner ,Francesco, introduced us Palermo's important places. Also it has a lovely terrace, even if it is winter I made my breakfast there. Bathroom was clean. I felt like i am in home. It is very suitable for Sicily. Thank you so much. It was so friendly.

Thank you, all was wonderful. The apartments are situated near bus station and railway station. If yo want to go to different cities in Sicily this variant is the best one. The manager was friendly and polite. The apartment was clean and very stylish. There is only one problem, the conditioner for the warm air (because it was November) worked very loud! I think there is some problems with it. I decided not to use it, because they gave me a blanket.

First b&b in our whole week in Sicily that had proper sockets for plugging our uk adaptors without the need to disconnect fridge or tv. Lovely terraces on top of the building with 360 degrees views. The hostess is a very smart and efficient young lady. Her english was very very good, the best from all the other b&b hosts we encountered in Sicily. The apartment was fine, very well converted to bnb and very secure.

Had very nice time in this hotel. Cleaning in hotel was always good. We liked a private terrace in our room. Breakfast for Italy is very good. Staff on breakfast and reception is always nice and ready to help. Hotel is suitable for relax and feel of Sicily. However, if you stay in Fontane Bianche we recommend car hire, as there is not much in the village, but plenty of gorgeous places around. Great value for money.

Room very clean and comfortable, with amazing sea views from a spatious balcony. We could see both Taormina and mainland Italy. Great AC in the room. Staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel beach is lovely and clean. Lots of choices for breakfast, and it's conveniant to have a restaurant in the hotel for dinner. Quiet neighbourhood. Easy to get to highway by car, and explore East Sicily.

We loved our stay in Casa Vucciria Nuova and it was a wonderful way to begin our 2 week visit to Sicily. The apartment is beautiful, spotlessly clean, well stocked with everything you need and far exceeded our expectations. Great location for restaurants, just walk outside your door. We were greeted by our hosts and they could not have been friendlier. We highly recommend this apartment.

Nadia was a very welcoming and helpful host. The apartment itself is very modern, clean, spacious and comfortable. Great shower, very comfortable bed. Was the only place we stayed in Sicily with a coffee machine (nespresso), was very welcome! Good wifi, walking distance to lots of interesting sights, restaurants and cafes. The gelato place nearby (Al Gelatone) was delicious :)

The host Monique was very helpful and friendly; she talked to me about her life in Sicily and provided information about restaurants and tourist attractions. The location of the apartment was excellent; the very centre of the city was 7 minutes away, and there were many good restaurants near the apartment.

This is the worst hotel out of 5 we stayed in during our 2 weeks in Sicily. The rooms are tiny, some rooms have AC that works, others don't, and beds are very uncomfortable; however the staff was very helpful and friendly.

The apartment is really well equipped, the location is fantastic, and the communication from Giulia our host was excellent. We throughly enjoyed our stay at Natoli Apartment, it was the perfect end to our trip to Sicily.
