I had a fantastic stay, lovely clean place! The large room was perfectly set up with plenty of space and thoughtful touches like extra blankets, the lady was incredibly accommodating, guiding me when I was lost and communication was excellent throughout. I would definitely recommend for anyone traveling on short notice and need an excellent mattress,
pratical 300 yds from Catania airport.

I had been deserted by so called friends in a city and left by myself. I booked this and the lady was in touch to arrange a time. She was on hand the whole time even though she had no idea of my story, she was a friendly welcoming lady and I'm grateful I came here for the night. It was immaculately clean, welcoming and the extra touches like a coffee machine with supplies and cakes. Absolutely excellent. The air conditioning was a god send as I had been camping all week. Everything is thought about and the price is excellent. Thank you for a great stay x

The hotel is located close to the airport, easy to reach on foot, clean, calm, clear recommendations on how to get there and open. Thank you for the snacks and coffee, on the 1st floor there is a common large dining room-kitchen, veranda.

Le Dune Sicily Hotel is only 2 km away from the city centre of Catania. It lies in an enchanting place between the golden sand of "de La Plaia" beach and a beautiful small Maritime pine forest.

Beautiful city center, lovely buildings, loads of places to eat out.
Bellini park was a great place to go to with children as there where swings and other possibilities for the children to play.
There were only three public beaches we visited two of them. The sand was full of rabish and the sea as well. Spiagga publika no 3 was better than number one.
Getting there with bus D was a disaster. The bus was always late sometimes didn't arrive at all. When it did arrive it soon got too full to pick up more people and continued going. It was very frustrating. For this the public beach number three was better although it was further from the city center.

Its a nice calm area close to Catania.
Its a nice calm area close to Catania. Its much cleaner than other towns or Catania itself. Usually the garbage is lying around everywhere next to the roads, highways etc. but in Misterbianco it seemed a bit better.
When you drive towards Misterbianco you would think that it will be as trashy as the surrounding areas but thank god no. There are couple of pizzerias and bars at a very affordable price.

This is a small town on the way to Mt Etna.
This is a small town on the way to Mt Etna. We stayed here and were pleasantly surprised to find so many culinary gems!!! There are at least two exquisite cafes serving Sicilian delights that were top notch. There is also a fantastic sushi restaurant and seafood restaurant. We had local friends as a guide so they really showed us around to the best kept secrets of the area!! We can’t wait to visit again!

Host were lovely, location wasn't great for finding something to eat. Room was located in basement, lacking some modern facilities, cooker used bottled gas. Room was large and you could see that it could sleep 4 or more people, with at least 3 sofa beds in place as well as the double bed.

Aci Castello is fine for a brief few-hour visit to see the historic castle, but I highly recommend staying elsewhere. The area feels quite isolated and far from everything you might need. We found the local amenities severely lacking, with a very limited number of cafes and shops. If you enjoy walking, you will likely be disappointed; there is zero nature, and the main promenade is heavily congested with traffic rather than being pedestrian-friendly. Overall, it lacks a comfortable, livable atmosphere, and there just isn't much to do or see beyond the main landmark

Breakfasts at Pasticceria Dolce Trinacria were amazing, the Coop at the Parco Commerciale Le Zagare is very large with in-store bakery. Lidl's also pretty good. Walking is OK, but one or two roads don't have paths, so care is needed.

Was there for the first time for a conference, so the available time to experience more than a walk on the beach and dining was not able to be realized. There is more to be found both within and outside the city, but plan for a day long excursion if you want to take in Mt Etna and its surrounding offerings. One note of caution... bathroom availability and cleanliness are lacking. Most places (including the airport!!!) do not have seats on the toilets, cannot accept toilet paper in the system and needs to be disposed of in an open can next to the toilet, and upkeep of these bathrooms (as well as TLC by those using them) leaves much to be desired. Even the door latches are broken off most stall doors, making a visit to one of these stalls subject to multiple encounters during a session. Recommend maximizing use of one's hotel accommodations and carrying sanitary wipes if a visit to a public or restaurant facility is needed. (oh, and coins to pay in many places if you are not considered a patron of the establishment)

Beautiful Sicilian town experience.
Beautiful Sicilian town experience. Views of Mount Etna and the lowlands are great from the city. The classic churches are not to be missed. The parking situation on the street is scary and the roads need improvement. Not a place to have an SUV.
