Boasting free Wi-Fi throughout, Catania International Airport Hotel is set 1 km from the beach. Catania Fontanarossa Airport is a 15-minute walk away. Convenient if you need a place nearby the airport. The shuttle service is recommended, because, even if the airport is near, the street is dangerous to be done by feet.

San Max Hotel 3 stars

Hotel in Catania

San Max Hotel is set in a building that dates back to the early 19th century. It is located right on Via Etnea, in the historic centre of Catania. Private parking is available. I felt so welcomed and helped by Max and his team at San Max hotel from before my arrival to the end of my stay. You can really feel that Max cares about his hotel and the guest staying there. The room was nice and big with a balcony, and the pool was beautiful and lifesaving if you go to Catania in summer (it is hot). I also really enjoyed the location of the hotel, being close to the Bellini garden. For the atmosphere alone I will without a doubt book San Max Hotel next time I go to Catania. Such a pleasant stay I had.

Le Dune Sicily Hotel 3 stars

Hotel in Catania

Le Dune Sicily Hotel is only 2 km away from the city centre of Catania. It lies in an enchanting place between the golden sand of "de La Plaia" beach and a beautiful small Maritime pine forest. We loved our room, the decor was so pretty. The room was warm and clean and the shower was good and powerful. We slept comfortably and it was quiet around. We are in the restaurant for dinner and had some delicious bruschetta and pasta. We were traveling to the airport early the next morning so the receptionist booked our taxi the night before. Hotel is close to the airport.

A Perfect Combination of Ancient and Modern

Located on Sicily’s eastern coast, at the foot of Mount Etna, Catania is the island’s second largest city. This charming destination features unique Sicilian Baroque architecture, large squares, avenues and a very important port.

On the northern side of the Cathedral Square, the historical Palazzo degli Elefanti houses the Town Hall of Catania. The Elephant Fountain is the city’s symbol and the entrance to the main shopping area. Surrounded by stunning Baroque buildings, Piazza del Duomo is a popular meeting point for tourists and locals.

Dedicated to Saint Agata and built over the Roman Baths of Achilles, the Duomo has an impressive facade that is one of Gia Battista Vaccarini’s masterpieces. The cathedral’s dome dates to 1802, while in the vaulted interior is the grave of the well-known composer Vincenzo Bellini.

Facing the Ionian Sea, this beautiful seaside place is one the hottest Italian cities during the summer. Mount Etna is an active volcano and a nice place for skiing in winter or a trip to the solidified rivers of lava during the rest of the year.

With the busiest airport in Sicily, Catania-Fontanarossa Airport, Catania is easily accessible by numerous European destinations like Munich, Rome and London. You can stay in one of the Catania hotels, guest houses or hostels Booking.com offers.
