I think it was the best hotel experience I've ever had. I recieved an incredibly warm and accommodating welcome from the professional but friendly staff, very helpful personalised advice and orientation on nearby attractions, restaurants and transport (all in perfect English - I'm working on my Italian but need to do much better!). My room (and ensuite) was very comfortable and cool from the A/C and I loved that there was interesting art in the room and the amazing breakfast FEAST (truly the only accurate description) was incredible! The most delicious array of fresh fruit, cheeses, breads, eggs, pastries plus delicious coffee exactly (how I ordered). AND on top all of that, the location is perfect for exploring Palermo on foot (you can go all day without stoping when fuelled by the amazing breakfast) to soak up all of the vitalness of this beautiful city in the historic quarter as well as shopping and museums. Cannot recommend highly enough. Already looking forward to a return trip.

Edgy and eclectic, Palermo is a symbol of all that Sicily stands for. From buzzing Vespas to the bustling Vucciria market, it simply brims with life.
Wonderful Palermo Cathedral glows radiantly in the Mediterranean sun. Nearby is the city’s last Sicilian Puppet Theatre, and opposite is a palm-filled park housing Roman mosaics, though the best are in the archaeological museum. At one end is the Norman Palace, a government building home to the fabulous Cappella Palatina whose gold mosaics are absolutely breathtaking.
Equally magnificent are the gold mosaics lining 12th-century Monreale Cathedral on the city’s outskirts. Wander the cloisters and note the varying columns and capitals – each pair is different.
Palermo also has fascinating churches: 2 of the oldest are 12th-century San Giovanni degli Eremeti and San Cataldo, each with red, Islamic-style domes. Gesú Church has an incredible Sicilian Baroque interior, while La Martorana’s frescoes are awe-inspiring. A street away is Quattro Canti, a crossroads with a fountain at each corner.
Other attractions include round Teatro Massimo, Mondello beach and Monte Pellegrino mountain overlooking the sea. You get fabulous views of this picnic spot as you fly into Palermo Airport before heading to your Booking.com accommodation.

We had heard some negative reviews of Palermo via You Tube etc prior to our trip. While it was definitely the busiest of all the places we visited, it was not only beautiful, but we felt perfectly safe and relaxed there.
I am glad we didn’t bypass this exciting city with its great food markets and wonderful historic centre. I cannot fault it !!!

Palermo is a depressing city.
Palermo is a depressing city. All the life is in one street, the main street where the 2 opera houses, the shops and the restaurants are. It is more expensive than Catania with no reason (I was told, "because here is the capital of Sicilia"...). There are no signs showing the center of Palermo... You don 't feel comfortable next to the main street of Palermo. It is dirty and the icon is bad. I surely would suggest the eastern part of Sicily than visiting Palermo.

When we went it was extremely hot outside and therefore walking around the city was very strenuous even though we are young and hike in our free time. There are only few places to sit with air conditioning; therefore it was not very enjoyable to be in the city. The city was also quite dirty with a lot of rubbish flying around. I would never come back at this time of year. The food was nice, but also not amazing as was claimed.

Palermo is a very interesting and energetic city with so much to discover- history, art, culture and beautiful environs- Mondello, My Pellegrino. It's also a very walkable and the food is amazing!!
What a hidden gem in a bustling part of Palermo. Amazing little B&B with a lovely host. The room was exceptionally clean, very comfortable and way above my expectations - fantastic value. Breakfast is gorgeous - beats any large hotel buffet - and the cappucino made with love is the best I had during my 10 days in Sicily. The location is perfect - walking distance to the main sites. There's no lift however the host is happy to help with luggage so no problem at all. I cannot fault this place - will definitely be back.
We went to Palermo for a family trip. The apartment is in a very good location with train station (train directly from airport) and a few restaurants, shops nearby. The apartment has two bathrooms, a kitchen and a large balcony, which was perfect for family. Everything was so tidy and we have everything we need in the apartment! The host, Davide, was very helpful and give us a lots of tips for our trip in Sicily. We will definitely stay at Casa Mari again if we come back to Palermo.
The apartment is very beautiful, spacious and clean, every detail for a comfortable stay has been thought through. From the first minute we met Janna we felt sincere care. The owners are wonderful organisers, Janna was helpful in any way she could. The breakfast was incredible, the best during our entire stay in Sicily. I think that in Palermo we could not find a better place to stay, thank you very much!
Central to everywhere in Palermo.
Spotlessly Clean.
Friendly Owner.
Three times we have stayed here in our six times to Sicily.
