This hotel was a one night stop during our road trip through Sicily. The hotel is clean and in an excellent location. It is on a busy street but we could not hear the traffic and is about a 10 minute walk to the centre of Palermo. Plenty of restaurants around the area too. We parked our car in an underground garage about 150 metres from the hotel for about 15 Euro for 24 hours.

The staff, they made this hotel. Yes decor is quirky and the location is ideal, however people make a place. I wish more places back home were like this. They were helpful knowledgeable and made suggestions on how to make our stay more enjoyable. They evidently work well as a team. Breakfast was exceptionall however to much food and a bit overwhelming.

Edgy and eclectic, Palermo is a symbol of all that Sicily stands for. From buzzing Vespas to the bustling Vucciria market, it simply brims with life.
Wonderful Palermo Cathedral glows radiantly in the Mediterranean sun. Nearby is the city’s last Sicilian Puppet Theatre, and opposite is a palm-filled park housing Roman mosaics, though the best are in the archaeological museum. At one end is the Norman Palace, a government building home to the fabulous Cappella Palatina whose gold mosaics are absolutely breathtaking.
Equally magnificent are the gold mosaics lining 12th-century Monreale Cathedral on the city’s outskirts. Wander the cloisters and note the varying columns and capitals – each pair is different.
Palermo also has fascinating churches: 2 of the oldest are 12th-century San Giovanni degli Eremeti and San Cataldo, each with red, Islamic-style domes. Gesú Church has an incredible Sicilian Baroque interior, while La Martorana’s frescoes are awe-inspiring. A street away is Quattro Canti, a crossroads with a fountain at each corner.
Other attractions include round Teatro Massimo, Mondello beach and Monte Pellegrino mountain overlooking the sea. You get fabulous views of this picnic spot as you fly into Palermo Airport before heading to your Booking.com accommodation.

I may be a bit biased as my husband is from Palermo and I have been travelling to this city many times over the past 30+ years. Yes, it is dirty in parts. Yes, there is a lot of graffitti and yes the traffic can be chaotic. But if you are aware of these things beforehand and can look past them, Palermo has so much to offer with regards to history, architecture, churches, local foods, atmosphere etc. There is a beach close by (Mondello) with other areas of interest less than two hours away e.g. Agrigento, Erice, Monreale, Cefalu as well as beautiful beach towns e.g. San Vito lo Capo, Scopello etc.
Sicily is very different to other areas of Italy e.g. Tuscany, but it has a charm of it's own, the history is fascinating and the beaches/sea are amazing. Enjoy.

It’s a very big city but most of the sights a tourist would be interested in are within a 30 minute radius of the historic centre.
It’s an exceptionally busy place but with a great, really fabulous buzz to it.
Masses of fantastic bars and restaurants and some really good shops.
Ca highly recommend La Galleria at the back of the cathedral and Il Giardino Fresca just hidden away off Via Vittorio Emmanualle.

History and culture, interesting food and excellent tours. Favourite places we visited were the Palzzo Conte Frederico, Ballaro Market and Classic walking tour. Best to stay down town and visit without a car, as driving is very challenging. Otto’s was excellent food.

We had heard some negative reviews of Palermo via You Tube etc prior to our trip. While it was definitely the busiest of all the places we visited, it was not only beautiful, but we felt perfectly safe and relaxed there.
I am glad we didn’t bypass this exciting city with its great food markets and wonderful historic centre. I cannot fault it !!!

Palermo is a depressing city.
Palermo is a depressing city. All the life is in one street, the main street where the 2 opera houses, the shops and the restaurants are. It is more expensive than Catania with no reason (I was told, "because here is the capital of Sicilia"...). There are no signs showing the center of Palermo... You don 't feel comfortable next to the main street of Palermo. It is dirty and the icon is bad. I surely would suggest the eastern part of Sicily than visiting Palermo.
This appartment was the most beautiful and well equipped appartment on our holiday in Sicily, it was the 4th place we stayed and by far the best!
The host was very helpful and prompt to answer any questions.
It was in a nice area about 10/15 minutes walk to the main shopping street and Teatro Massimo etc. Perfect location for the bus to the airport or coming from other parts of Sicily.
Would gladly stay here again.
Neat apartment close to train station and main sights of Palermo. Good volume. Comfortable, clean. Well equipped kitchen. Place seems to have been recently renovated. Host Massimiliano is very nice. Offers a reasonably priced private commute from the airport, although it's not much faster than the public bus. Good communication from the host. Finally someone who can speak English in Sicily. Good price.
The hotel is very well located, the rooms are very comfortable and very clean. good breakfast very practical. but the best thing is the hosts went to see us at the airport for the same price that they charge you at the airport and at that time in the morning with a lot of patience they helped us in many things it was definitely the best in sicily
Great location, short walking distance from all the historic landmarks and the three markets of Palermo. Alfonso is an excellent host, always available to help and gave us great tips on what to do and where to eat. The breakfast was one of the best we had in Sicily!
Beautiful old hotel. Staff was very helpful and welcoming. Large, plentiful breakfast in beautiful room. Wonderful central location for exploring Palermo. Great sauna and roof top bar and terrace. Best Negroni in all of Sicily (Rome and Amalfi Coast).
