The room was clean, and breakfast served in the room was also really good. The small spa area was perfect for a rainy day. It is near the city centre so you can walk to all attractions. There is a free parking lot near the hotel (200m).

The hotel is located at the very heart of Palermo city center. Within 10 minutes walking distance you can reach all the important monuments. The rooms are recently renovated and the bathroom is just excellent. The breakfast is very rich in a cosy restaurant at the ground floor. All these are easy to figure out from the map and by studying all the photos and info included in the various reviews. What might be harder to spot is the staff of the hotel that places heart and soul to make your stay truly memorable. I felt as if they already knew all my habits - always anticipating my needs. This took me completely by surprise.

FAQs about hotels in Palermo

A Symbol of Sicily

Edgy and eclectic, Palermo is a symbol of all that Sicily stands for. From buzzing Vespas to the bustling Vucciria market, it simply brims with life.

Wonderful Palermo Cathedral glows radiantly in the Mediterranean sun. Nearby is the city’s last Sicilian Puppet Theatre, and opposite is a palm-filled park housing Roman mosaics, though the best are in the archaeological museum. At one end is the Norman Palace, a government building home to the fabulous Cappella Palatina whose gold mosaics are absolutely breathtaking.

Equally magnificent are the gold mosaics lining 12th-century Monreale Cathedral on the city’s outskirts. Wander the cloisters and note the varying columns and capitals – each pair is different.

Palermo also has fascinating churches: 2 of the oldest are 12th-century San Giovanni degli Eremeti and San Cataldo, each with red, Islamic-style domes. Gesú Church has an incredible Sicilian Baroque interior, while La Martorana’s frescoes are awe-inspiring. A street away is Quattro Canti, a crossroads with a fountain at each corner.

Other attractions include round Teatro Massimo, Mondello beach and Monte Pellegrino mountain overlooking the sea. You get fabulous views of this picnic spot as you fly into Palermo Airport before heading to your Booking.com accommodation.

Palermo is a beautiful and vibrant city with lots to see and explore. We especially enjoyed walking around the historic center and discovering the charming streets and local markets. There are many great places to eat, with delicious local food and plenty of options for families. The city is quite easy to explore on foot, although some streets can be busy. We also enjoyed spending time together as a family and exploring the city at a relaxed pace.

Palermo is a vast city -we stayed 4 nights As independant travellers using public transport. Buses were over crowded-not easy to get around & no where to be seen were the tourist free public buses. Taxis will cost you Euro15 for about a Km. There are various HOP ON HOP OFF buses which maybe the best thing to do if you are in a hurry-not cheap

Palermo was unfortunately one of the most disappointing...

Palermo was unfortunately one of the most disappointing stops of our trip. The city felt very dirty and poorly maintained, and in several areas we did not feel particularly comfortable or safe, especially at night. We encountered a lot of people and situations that made some neighborhoods feel quite shady. We also found that there was surprisingly little to do compared with how much Palermo is promoted on social media. After seeing so many beautiful videos and recommendations online, our expectations were much higher, but the reality felt very different. The city itself did not offer enough for us to justify spending several days there. Overall, Palermo felt extremely overhyped on social media and was simply not for us. I would personally recommend spending more time exploring other parts of Sicily instead.

We love Palermo and go there quite often to visit and go to the theatre and basically do more sightseeing. There is so much to do and see in Palermo and every season is amazing. Summer is very hot but this time with our adult son we still enjoyed it. We just did the Italian thing and had a rest in the afternoon when it was extremely hot.

Despite the crazy humidity and lunatic drivers!

Despite the crazy humidity and lunatic drivers! I couldn't recommend Palermo more. Amazing historical architecture, beautiful food, great people, brilliant markets, lots of tourist attractions - unbelievable cathedral, opera house, and palace. It had a bit of everything and a beach a short bus ride away. You can walk to most places in the historical centre very easily, just be aware if you go in the summer you will spend a lot of time like a puddle of sweat. Overall a wonderful place.

On my Italian journey I ended up in Palermo a bit by chance.

On my Italian journey I ended up in Palermo a bit by chance. My journey started in Rome and was supposed to end in Catania. (I had already been to Sicily years ago.) However, on the eve of my return trip from Catania, the airline informed me that, due to a new volcanic eruption of Mount Etna, no planes could depart from Catania. I was offered a return from Palermo the following day. I managed to arrange to return from Palermo two days later, and then of course I had to find an overnight stay in that city. And that in the month of July… But I succeeded, and it turned out to be an excellent B&B in the centre of the city on walking distance from Palermo Centrale Station. I didn't really have the time to visit the city properly and would like to do so next time. The old city certainly didn't look prosperous, but I felt safe everywhere. I saw only a few of the many beautiful monuments, but would like to see more next time.

One of the nice, cleane and most comfortable apartments we have ever stayed in Italy. The owner, Gabrielle, speaks excellent English, which helped us to finding out a lot about the local area. The apartments are located in the historic center of Palermo, in a rare Moncada building, inside everything is perfectly arranged, it is a very cozy, comfortable and convenient place. if you are looking to experience true Sicily, than this is best choose. If we return to this city again, we will definitely order these apartments again.

The place was spacious, clean and nicely decorated. It included a vacuum cleaner, and iron and enough glasses and cups for everyone. The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed the views of urban Sicily life. It was as quiet as Palermo gets with good restaurants and gelaterias (Bagliori is must-visit) close by. Anything in the old city was 10 to 20 min away by foot. Parking the car nearby was also possible with a bit of luck. The guy they hired to take care of us was helpful and did his best for us.

The location is perfect for walking around Palermo, you really can't go wrong as it's just next to the old town on a quiet side street and only 10 min walk from the main train station offering great connection to the airport and other parts of Sicily. The room itself was spotlessly clean and spacious. Sadly the pool is not open in April which I didn't realise until the last minute. Our hosts were very accommodating and brought extra pillows very quickly upon request.
