Hotel Villa Fiorita 3 stars

Hotel in Taormina

Housed in an antique building in the centre of Taormina, Hotel Villa Fiorita features a free swimming pool and a spacious terrace, both offering panoramic sea views. The building was beautiful abd timeless. The sitting areas were picturesque, and the view from the attic suite was great. We had to check out early the next day, so they boxed our lunches. The location was convenient to the bus stop where we had a tour bus departing the next day.

Casa Cuseni Maison De Charme

Hotel in Taormina

Just a 5-minute walk from Taormina's main square, Casa Cuseni Maison De Charme is a historical B&B housed in a museum of fine arts declared a national monument. This is a really special place which I loved, appreciated and hope to return to. Beautiful hospitality in all respects. Thank you so much Mimma! Recommend reading Daphne Phelps book "A House in Sicily" beforehand. The house is a museum, don't miss the fascinating tour with knowlegeable Maria! Highly recommended.

Hotel Villa Belvedere 4 stars

Hotel in Taormina

The Belvedere is an elegant villa with views of Naxos Bay and Mount Etna in the distance. It is next to public gardens, and a 5 minutes' walk from Taormina's Corso Umberto. We were welcomed by Joshua, who despite the mad rush at reception took the time to guide us through the places we should visit and restaurants not to miss. It’s a stone’s throw from the plush Timeo and I’d say on a par when it comes to service

VOI Grand Hotel Atlantis Bay 5 stars

Hotel in Taormina

VOI Grand Hotel Atlantis Bay is located on a cliff in Baia delle Sirene Bay. The property boasts a panoramic restaurant with veranda, a swimming pool, and a private floating sea platform. Beautiful location, very peaceful and relaxing. Staff friendly and helpful. Good breakfast. Swimming in sea was great, need rock shoes. Train passes by from time to time but was not a bother, added to the local scenery. Easy to get the cable car to Taormina town and to walk to Isolabella which has an interesting history and was worth the walk at the end of the day.

The Jewel in the Sicilian Crown

As you admire crystal-clear turquoise seas from a Taormina piazza swathed in vibrant pink blossom, you could be forgiven for thinking that you were in paradise. The stunning location of this picturesque town is its crowning glory.

However, it’s not its only glory. Surrounded by trees just below the main town, the Greek Theatre is also a triumph. Its largely intact seating offers wonderful views across the stage towards Mount Etna fuming away in the distance. Spine-tingling summer performances are still held here, and several of the town’s bars also offer live music.

Corso Umberto I runs through the heart of Taormina, from Piazza Corvaja to the 13th-century cathedral, and houses many shops and cafés. Midway along is Piazza IX Aprile, whose clock tower and church are overlooked by a rocky hill topped with a castle.

A cable car runs from the town down to the beautiful Taormina beaches (where the train station is also found). At the centre of the W-shaped bay is little Isola Bella, an island nature reserve. To the south-west is the long stretch of sand at Giardini-Naxos, and north is the bay by Mazzaró.

As you would expect of Sicily’s most beautiful resort, there is no shortage of Taormina accommodation on Booking.com, including 5-star hotels on the beach, town centre apartments and luxury B&Bs.
