Hotel is good and location is excellent as it is near the train station and SAIS Buses

We arrived quite late on the first day so we wanted to sleep in and didn't even expect to catch breakfast. But they were waiting for us. Just with two croissants and coffee. But this small act of kindnes was awesome. This is the difference between the best and the usual average hotel. I can only recommend, besides the fact that everything other was just perfect.

We probably had an upgrade as the room was much bigger than I expected, with a little separate kitchen. The position was great for using the public transport. All the staff there were very friendly and helpful. There is a fantastic bread shop just around the corner which also did pizza and hot dishes at lunchtime, calle 'Non solo pane', I can't recommend it highly enough? If/when we return to Messina, we would happily stay there.

Comfortable room with balcony and kitchenette. Check in easy. Art everywhere was a nice touch. I was in the Matrix themed room!

Don't be put off by the outside appearance, the interior is far superior to how it looks from outside ! Stayed overnight waiting for our ferry booking to Sicily (Hotel is less than 5 minutes from embarking point), really friendly staff (Son & Owner), beautifully renovated reception & rooms although the exterior does need a lot of TLC. Lift is very antiquated & the hotel staff tend to operate it for you as they know how to kick it/bang it to keep it going, novel ! As an overnight stop on the way to Sicily, we have no complaints, as a stop for a multi day holiday.
