The hotel is beautiful, the check in was easy and the room was what we expected, really nice. We loved the pool, it is relaxing and not too crowded, even in August. The breakfast was really good, a lot of options, and you can sit by the sea to have it. The staff was accommodating. Overall it was a great stay, I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a relaxing vacation.

A very comfortable hotel, the room and bathroom were very spacious, the design of the place is very nice and well maintained with all the modern comforts and a lovely balcony. Kite-shaped Trapani makes an impressive sight from lofty Mount Erice, connected to the peninsula below by cable car. On a clear day, the mountain also offers views of Tunisia - one destination of ferries from Trapani Port, alongside Cagliari, Pantelleria and the offshore Egadi Islands.

Overlooking the port is the old town, where arched doorways on narrow streets open onto many cheap apartments and B&Bs on Booking.com. Shabby chic façades sit alongside historic churches, such as understated Trapani Cathedral, somewhat lost amid elegant Corso Vittorio Emanuele, where pavement cafes sit in front of pastel-coloured buildings and metal balconies.

At the tip of the peninsula is the fortress-like Tower of Ligny lighthouse, now housing the Prehistory and Sea Museum. The Colombaia Castle protects the port from an island to the south, while in the other direction the sweeping coastline passes some beachfront hotels with swimming pools.

Villa Margherita Park offers shade from the Mediterranean sun, and Triton’s Fountain graces a neighbouring square. The simple façade of the Basilica of Maria Santissima Annunziata hides the treasures within, including a statue of the Madonna of Trapani which is at the heart of the Easter ‘Misteri’ celebrations.

Very nice seaside city.

Very nice seaside city. We were able to visit picturesque Erice, the former Florio Tuna factory on Fauvingiana island and Florio winery in Marsala with ease. Also near sea salt production facilities. Enjoyed local Busiate Trapanese and CousCous.

Trapani is a small city with interesting churches, museums.

Trapani is a small city with interesting churches, museums. It is within easy distance by bus 21 and cable car to Erice and ferries to the islands are frequent. We are not beach people and the beaches in the city are not golden sand. There a numerous restaurants in the old town using Trip Advisor will help you pick ones you like. There is a Segesta bus to Palermo - takes about 2 hours - from the port. Tickets can be booked online or at the Egatours office opposite the bus stop. You can get to Marsala by train - the service is not frequent so check times at the station or on Trainline. Driving is not for the faint hearted. The rules of the road in the city take some getting used to.

Characterful old town with plenty of good restaurants and bars. Trips to Segesta and Favignana easy to organise on public transport and the cable car up to Erice was fun....though be aware that it is not really worth visiting Erice if there is cloud around as you can see very little!

The city is clean and well-kept, with beautiful, well-maintained buildings. It has a real soul, and you feel safe there. You can easily park on the street. You won’t be hassled by street vendors, and you can enjoy a good meal in any restaurant without worrying about falling into a tourist trap.

Trapani is not as picturesque as some other Sicilian towns...

Trapani is not as picturesque as some other Sicilian towns but it is a good base for exploration of Western Sicily. The old town is a worth a visit and it has some interesting monuments and churches. We had the opportunity to observe the Good Friday processions which was full of colour and pageantry. Erice is close by and accessible by cable car and well-worth a visit.

This was without any doubt the best accommodation in all of Sicily! The apartment was brand new, rooms were very comfortable with a very large bathroom in each room. The apartment is surrounded by a beautiful garden. The apartment is not in the city centre, but it is definitely worth the walk or short drive! The owner is extremely nice and helpful, he gave us all recommendations. There are stores and even a pharmacy nearby... In short: excellent!

We were really glad we chose to stay here. Breakfast was great, staff super helpful providing tips on places to eat and visit and even going the extra mile by preparing us a little breakfast at very early hours due to a flight in Palermo we had to drive to catch. This was our best stay in all of Sicily. The rooms are beautiful and very well maintained. The host Sandra was very friendly and helpful to give us some advice on where to go. We stayed a total of three nights. Breakfast was great. It came in a buffet but very fresh and with a different extra dish (eggs, pancakes) over the days. Would recommend it!
