We had a pleasant stay in this very nice hotel located in the old town not far from the centre. The staff were very friendly and approachable, and very willingly gave us advice on things to do and places to go. The best praise we can give an apartment is to say that we would definitely stay here again the time we're in Trapani.

The apartment was new, comfortable, well-equiped and beautifuly designed, with balcony and great seaview. Very comfy bed. It was cleaned everyday, we felt realy cared for. The Staff of the hotel was very nice and supportive. A great advantage was the opportunity of renting bikes for free in the hotel. Breakfast was not very varied, but everything was fresh and delicious.

FAQs about hotels in Trapani

Seasoned with Life

Kite-shaped Trapani makes an impressive sight from lofty Mount Erice, connected to the peninsula below by cable car. On a clear day, the mountain also offers views of Tunisia - one destination of ferries from Trapani Port, alongside Cagliari, Pantelleria and the offshore Egadi Islands.

Overlooking the port is the old town, where arched doorways on narrow streets open onto many cheap apartments and B&Bs on Booking.com. Shabby chic façades sit alongside historic churches, such as understated Trapani Cathedral, somewhat lost amid elegant Corso Vittorio Emanuele, where pavement cafes sit in front of pastel-coloured buildings and metal balconies.

At the tip of the peninsula is the fortress-like Tower of Ligny lighthouse, now housing the Prehistory and Sea Museum. The Colombaia Castle protects the port from an island to the south, while in the other direction the sweeping coastline passes some beachfront hotels with swimming pools.

Villa Margherita Park offers shade from the Mediterranean sun, and Triton’s Fountain graces a neighbouring square. The simple façade of the Basilica of Maria Santissima Annunziata hides the treasures within, including a statue of the Madonna of Trapani which is at the heart of the Easter ‘Misteri’ celebrations.

Between the city and Trapani-Birgi Airport, historic windmills sit beside salt pans. The Salt Museum provides details of this major industry.

I found Trapani somewhat disappointing compared with other parts of Sicily we visited. The old town has some attractive historic buildings, but overall it felt rather tired and not particularly clean, and we didn't find as charming as expected. Restaurants were generally quite expensive for what was offered, with many having limited menus. The nearby beaches were also very busy and, in our opinion, not especially clean. If visiting the area again, we would probably choose to stay in Marsala or elsewhere and visit Trapani for the day rather than base ourselves there.

A great place to relax and plan day trips just a short distance from the city to Erice, Favignana, the salt fields, and other destinations. Excellent restaurants with great food. Plenty of car, scooter, and bike rentals in town and around the port. There are markets offering fresh seafood, fruit, and vegetables.

Trapani was a wonderful destination, and we had a fantastic stay. The city has a truly authentic Sicilian atmosphere and feels much less crowded than some of Sicily's more famous destinations. The historic old town is beautiful to explore, especially in the evening, and the sunsets over the sea are absolutely spectacular. We found several excellent restaurants, plenty of charming cafés and bars, and the prices were very reasonable. Be sure to try the local cannoli and granita – they were some of the best we've ever had! The locals were always friendly and welcoming, making us feel comfortable throughout our stay. The city beaches are great, with a few of them being truly outstanding. We also felt very safe throughout our stay, even when walking around at night, and during the day we had no concerns leaving our belongings on the beach while going for a swim. One of Trapani's biggest advantages is its location. The beautiful hilltop town of Erice is just a short trip away and is absolutely worth visiting. Trapani is also the perfect base for taking a ferry or a boat trip to the stunning Egadi Islands, which was one of the highlights of our holiday. The city itself is very walkable, and one full day is enough to explore its main attractions at a relaxed pace. The only downside was the public transportation, which could be better organized and signposted. Getting a taxi to or from the airport wasn't always straightforward, although it was manageable with a bit of planning. We also couldn't book the airport shuttle at the last minute, so it's worth arranging airport transport well in advance. Overall, Trapani exceeded our expectations, and we would happily visit again.

The old town area was beautiful, the buildings and churches so interesting, the beach was disappointing as it was covered in plant debris, and smelly, the sea was like walking through plant life. This may not always be the case, it may be seasonal or weather conditions. We found it easy to navigate the local buses to visit other areas/ beaches. The restaurants were amazing and so many to choose from. The bakeries and deli’s were a must visit. Supermarket type shops were far and few between, but we managed ok. Access to the other near by islands was easy, and worth a visit via a ferry, e bike hire was easy and absolutely worth it on the islands. Scooter hire available in Trapani to venture around the West area of Sicily was worth it as we found some amazing spots to swim with crystal clear seas. We used the scooter to go up to Erice which was beautiful but expensive to eat up in the medieval village, very over priced. Worth going up for the sunset.

Great location for couple seeking quiet comfort.

Great location for couple seeking quiet comfort. Once we left the quarters we experienced the beaucoup sidewalk cafes almost at every turn. The breathtaking architecture was subdued at night, and bespoke of history during the day. And it was a pleasure just observing clear skies & breathing clean sea/ocean air.

Absolutely amazing and cosy apartment. Clean, in 1-2 minutes from the beach and a bus stop to get to the city centre. New furniture, balconies in every room. The hostess was so nice and sent advices about restaurants, clubs etc. The bathroom is new and disinfected, towels perfectly white. Best apartment during our trip in Sicily!!!

Beautiful building, spacious room, and perfect location. Travel cot available for our 9-month-old baby. Easy parking next to the hotel either free in some streets or charged in others. Very easy to pay your parking slot using the "Easypark" application (usable through almost the whole Sicily).
