We got cought to a rainstorm while we were trying to go to San Gimignano on a motorbike with my wife and had to book the closest hotel since we were exhausted, wet and couldn’t continue. It was the beginning of our one week holiday in Italy and it had a very bad start, especially when my wife got sick because of exposure to rain and cold weather. So when we have arrived to Palazzo Loup hotel, we were soaked and in a terrible mode, however as soon as we entered the building and met Barbara, from that moment on it turned out to be an unforgettable memory for us. The most amazing thing in this hotel is its staff. They are polite, helpful and very professional. They went out of their way to make your stay as pleasant as it can be. We got served a special soup although it was not on the menu so that my wife can get better. They drove us to the pharmacy to get medicine. They made sure we are warm and comfortable to get well sooner. Thanks to them, we got on our feet in two days and enjoyed the rest of our journey. If we had been in an another hotel, we wouldn’t recover from the cold and the rest of our trip would be much more difficult. After our two-day stay in Palazzo Loup, it got a special place in our hearts for the rest of our lives. It is one of those places, which has its own character, has its own place in history and its environment, rather than an institutionalized accommodation for tourists. I recommend you to focus on its unique and precious sides rather than some of its shortcomings that relates to its age.

Location is very good. When you get down from bus you are just in front of the hotel. The surrounding of the hotel is ideal for a nature lover for a hike. All staff are very friendly. On top of all their food is exceptionally good. It’s like homemade Italian food. Yummy yum 😋…. Their 78 year old Italian chef is magnificent and very friendly. Also their pizza is also very delicious….

This is a nice hotel on an amazing lake within a beautiful village. The views from the room that I had were very beautiful and authentic. The staff were very friendly and waited for us to arrive late at night. There is a small cafe on the hotel lobby and it feels very cozy. The restaurant is also nice on a balcony with lake view. Definitely worth a second visit!

This is not a house it's heaven. I would give this place a 100 if I could. Pictures doesn't do it justice at all. Set in the beautiful surroundings, in a little village surrounded buy woods, with a spectacular view, but not even 10 km from the highway. The Owner Lucia met us to give us the keys and show us the parking spot and explain everything. She is the one of the sweetest, most generous people I have ever met. Not only does she have the most beautiful home she shares it with an open heart. The cottage is set in a small garden with sitting area front and back and balcony on the first floor. Everything is a house is super clean arranged to perfection. You have three bedrooms (one for kids) and two bathrooms, with large kitchen/sitting room with an open fire place for the winter. I can honestly say I hope I will be back one day to enjoy it for longer then one night.

The scenery - and the routes - and the scenery, did I mention the scenery? Some people get to live in such beautiful scenery, every day. The roads were in great condition and some really great stretches to ride. Too bad there wasn't a motorbike below, it would have been even more enjoyable.

If you enjoy hiking and small towns, this is the perfect place for you. The village has a church tower with a real carillon – absolutely beautiful! The restaurant looked very inviting, but unfortunately we hadn't made a reservation. We'll know better next time.
