Moncalieri is 15-20 minutes by train to Torino so a bit more reasonable than in the city. It is a small borgo and is very quiet in August when most Italians are on holidays. We used it as a base for doing day trips and visiting the sights in Torino. It has a beautiful couple of churches and a nice piazza with several good restaurants. It is also a good base for day trips to wine country and the mountains. We didn't have a car so used the train to get out of town and walked everywhere else. You can walk (a long walk) from Moncalieri to Torino through Parco Valentino. It is a lovely forested walk along the river Po into the city. Torino is a beautiful and vibrant city.

Very professional hotel and excellent service from the front desk and whole team, 20-30 minutes from central Turin depending on your mode of transport. Very good buffet breakfast but no evening meal available. However just an easy 10 minutes stroll into the lovely small town of Moncalieri with some lovely bars and restaurants. The front desk team will advise you depending on your requirements.
