After a hectic drive and arriving late at the hotel it was a relief to be told that our dinner table was still available. A fixed menu 5 course meal was served in the beautiful hotel garden with live music. The food and wines provided were excellent and after the conclusion of the meal we retired to our spacious bedroom and we were soon asleep in the most comfortable of beds. A leisurely rise the next morning to a very good breakfast with a great choice of fare. i would definitely recommend this small boutique hotel.

The property has a feel of a home with many of the staff the family owners. Christian and Manuel’s mother presides over the hotel & restaurant and the friendly service was exceptional. The jewel in the crown is the amazing restaurant specialising in risotto. The breakfast was also delicious.

I loved the stylish old-world decor complete with paintings, and the spacious feel. I also liked that the host contacted me on WhatsApp from the get go and gave me local advice as soon as I arrived. I wasn't expecting aircon (and there wasn't) but I appreciated that one can fully open the windows for flow-through on a really hot day. The kitchen was also very useable and included a coffee maker and some starting capsules.

Hard to get a better breakfast. Huge room with probably one of the best bathrooms we have ever seen. Perfectly cleaned and new. Do not miss it in your tour in Piedmont. It definitely deserves a visit.

I saw ibisses and nutrias on long walks through the empty rice fields in winter. I saw the most amazing and passionate football match (we won), with non-stop singing from both ends of supporters, in a stadium with less than 5000 spectators. I saw a rare 2000-year-old inscription in the language of the Celts who didn't write. I enjoyed strolling though the shops and cafes around the Piazza Cavour. And I did eat very well Piemontese style, delicious carciofi and risotto and chicken innards with polenta

To visit Turin and the Piedmont region can be expensive for...

To visit Turin and the Piedmont region can be expensive for accommodation. And Milan accommodation costs a fortune! Vercelli is a nice little town that's 45 min car/train from Milan, an hour from Turin, surrounded by rice fields for the famous risotto dishes (see Stanley Tucchi's visit to a trendy risotto restaurant in Vercelli - which has become so mega-famous that it requires a 300 euro "deposit" on bookings. The curse of celebrity chefs). Piedmont wines are famously robust and delicious. The Alps and Matterhorn are always on the edge of any scene. Vercelli accommodation is generous and competitively priced: try getting a large family 2 bedroom flat with kitchen and free parking for 200 euros per night in Milan or Turin! There's a big Carrefour on the ring road, good for catering for families.

The front desk staff recommended a good restaurant not far from the hotel, called Tiffany, The restaurant was easy to walk to and filled with local patrions. We were the only non-Italian guests. The food and service were excellent. Thanks for the good tip.

Vercelli was my stop before heading to Alagna, Monte rosa.

Vercelli was my stop before heading to Alagna, Monte rosa. Alagnia is a beautiful village in the mountains. As I was travelling on a Sunday there was no public transport to take me there so I had to wait in Vercelli until the next day.

The town centre & main square were very nice with typically Italian cafes & bars looking out onto the squares. However, unless we missed something, it is not really a tourist town being mainly a commercial & industrial town.

Perfect apartments in the very center of the historical city. All the attractions are just a 5-10 minute walk, including a lot of cafes and restaurants. But despite the location, it was very quiet and calm. The underground garage was provided for a 10 Euro/night fee and was very useful, as parking in the city center is difficult. The host was very kind, contacted us in advance with all necessary check-in details, and met us upon arrival. Definitely stay here again when visiting Vercelli one more time.

This is a lovely little hotel with the most friendly and helpful staff. We had dinner in the restaurant which was wonderful. A traditional breakfast was served in a lovely little room with wonderful coffee and pastries. I cannot rate this hotel highly enough.
