Mamma mia, we are back from Villa Giusso and I simply can't take it out from my mind and heart. This place is a completely magical blend of history, charm, nature, beauty and hospitality. Who would believe that in the middle of the posh area of Amalfi coast, with its glitter and excitement, reigns on the hill a place of miracle and peace? The old world looks with indulgence at the new world unfolding at its feet. Everything is unique at Villa Giusso: the old monastery with a rich history, the owners story, once one of the richest and noble families of Napoli, the location watching over the golf and the Vesuvius, the greenery of the domain with the healing olive trees, the little pool seated almost up in the skies, with a breathtaking view, the original majolica tiles kitchen, the absolutely interesting museum in the attic's and not last, the special rooms furnished with many original but comfortable pieces of antique furniture. Every evening the dinner in the old kitchen, together with the italian family and the other guests was a delight. The ladies from the village cooked us delicious italian dishes, with fresh ingredients from the farm belonging to the Masseria. We were lucky to share the place with two lovely German families with whom we instantly clicked and spend joyful meals and after drinks plus an extraordinary domain walk. We hope to meet them again in Germany or Romania. The place is a true wonder but the condiment giving the aroma is Mrs Erminia, one of the two owning sisters, who took care of us. Rarely I meet somebody so attentive to its guests, she immediately feels if you need something and gracefully finds a solution. I still have her beautiful and cheerful laugh in my head as I see her leading us through the olive trees like a fairy spreading around joy and energy. You can see she is a genuine and caring person.

We have stayed here before but in the five star hotel which has access to the beach/ harbour for restaurants and day time leisure. You have to be very careful choosing the hotel as many of them are remote and there are no footpaths

Vico Equense is quite small and hasn't got the big choice of restaurants and shops you find in Sorrento, however it's size means it's not overcrowded like other towns. The train station is easily accessible and the trains are regular between Naples, Pompeii and Sorrento. The trains do get very busy and incredibly hot in summer so do not travel from the airport with your luggage on one. The air-conditioned Curreri Viaggi bus can be easily booked in advance and goes from the airport all the way down to Sorrento stopping at Vico Equense.

A perfect mix of rural life with easy access to amenities.

A perfect mix of rural life with easy access to amenities. Friendly people and stunning views. There are a wide range of restaurants; and local supermarkets, although small, are well equipped. The local produce is great and reasonably priced. As you would expect, the roads are winding and narrow, being built on a mountainside, so care needs to be taken - especially with scooters!

We loved Hotel Mary - the room, the pool, the restaurant, the Sea Club, the friendly staff, it was all wondeful. The matress in our room wasn't great and they need blackout shades, but that would be our only constructive criticism. We would definitely go back, the location is excellent.

This city is very convenient to get to from Naples by train or bus. Convenient connections with other cities nearby. Vico Equense itself is a great connection to Naples, Pompeii and Sorrento. If you wish, even Capri. There are cafes, restaurants, pastry shops, bars, shops.

Vico Equense is a lovely, lively little town and an excellent base for exploring the area, just three or four stops on the Circumvesuviana train line from Sorrento. We flew into Naples and took the Curreri bus service directly to Vico Equense, which took around an hour, and we used the same service for our return journey to the airport. It was by far the easiest and most convenient way to travel. There are plenty of excellent places to eat, including Ristorante Cerase for its stunning sea views, Ristorante Terramia for a special evening out, Ristorante Al Buco for something relaxed and affordable, L’Università della Pizza for huge pizzas, Bistrot La Piazzetta for a charming meal, Joan Cocktail Bar for drinks, and Gelateria Gabriele for its famous ice cream. Marina d’Aequa is also well worth a visit, with several lovely places to eat overlooking the sea. It can be a little tricky to reach on foot, so comfortable shoes or trainers are definitely recommended, as the steps are quite steep.

Hotel was beautiful and the staff were so friendly. The food in the restaurant was delicious. We were offered an upgrade when we arrived and our room was unbelievable wit a view which was out of this world. The only negative thing was we couldn't walk to the train station because of the dangerous roads and we couldn't find a beach that was suppose to he near, otherwise everything was beautiful. The view was breathtaking 😎😘

Great views of Vesuvius across the Bay. Comfortable beds. Clean apartment. Good supply of toiletries. Secure parking. The hotel is at the marina with three or four nice bars. Vico Equense itself is not comfortable walking distance so you’re reliant on the hourly hotel shuttle bus or your own transport - it is a very pretty town with good restaurants and incredible sunsets over the Bay if Naples.

Salvatore was the kindest most generous host . He couldn’t do enough to make our stay enjoyable . If you want a real taste of Italy instead of a tourist experience stay here. Salvatore makes his own wine which is excellent and own food too . The cuisine was a fabulous authentic experience .

The property is in a quiet area, the view is nice and the rooms are clean. The breakfast was good, the guest can choose what they want from a small menu and it's prepared on spot by a nice lady. Includes eggs - rarity in Italy.
