We spent two weeks in Japan, and although we stayed in this house for only one night, it left the best impression on us. The house is a combination of modern design and traditional Japanese style—very impressive. It’s recommended to have your own car because the place is a bit away from the usual tourist spots, though not too far. For us, that was an advantage, and we were able to relax and recharge. The host is the kindest person I have ever met. We felt truly exceptional there :)

The room is basic but has everything needed for a one-night stay. The bed is not very large. Amenities are included. What really stands out—and what we highly recommend—is having both breakfast and dinner at the hotel. The chef prepares everything deliciously with fresh, local ingredients, and his friendliness makes a big difference. There are no convenience stores nearby. Keep in mind that it’s about a 14-minute walk from the bus station.

Very nice and calm Onsen-Hotel in nature. Especially the outdoor Onsen is really nice. We stayed for 4 nights, which seemed to be rare. Usually breakfast is the same for everyone but since we stayed for several nights, they made us different breakfast from the second day so it didn't become repetitive.

Fairfield in Nikko was an exceptional stay for me, when compared to some other accommodations in Japan, especially due to the room's size, which was definitely on the larger side. The amenities looked brand new to me, as the entire hotel did. I also enjoyed the common spaces which have tasteful design and the outdoor space / terrace with the mountain view.

The Ritz-Carlton, Nikko features restaurants, fitness centre, a lobby lounge bar and shared lounge in Nikko situated by Lake Chuzenji and overlooking Mount Nantai.

Incredible experience from start to finish. I only stayed one night, but I felt immediately at home and could not have been happier. The private, in-room onsen was the highlight of the room without question. Such a wonderful way to unwind and I spent hours in there. They keep the onsen very hot, hotter than most I've been to, but it's easy to add cold water to cool it down and if you go too far, a call to the front desk will have hot water piping back in. I enjoyed soaking while watching the snow fall through the open window - and was very comfortable! The room was extremely spacious with sliding partitions for each area, so if traveling with a partner or family, it would be easy to create privacy when needed. In-room amenities were great. Nice lotions, soaps, etc. Lighting in the room was very nice - I believe about 6 different settings you can choose from to create the mood you're looking for. The meals were absolutely top notch and unforgettable, both the dinner and breakfast. I can't say enough good things but the food surpassed all my expectations. Simply lovely. Checking in and out was very smooth and simple. It was easy to catch a taxi from directly outside Tobu Nikko station and when it was time to leave, the staff called a taxi for me.

This hotel was amazing, the bed was comfortable, the room was big enough for me, the view from my room was simply incredible. Location was great too, and a konbini across the street? Score.
