We really enjoyed the traditional Japanese style of the hotel and the delicious breakfast. The hospitality was outstanding—the host was always available via texting, offering rides from the bus stop and helpful tips on what to do in the area. When we arrived in bad weather, he informed us that the cable cars were closed and recommended great alternatives. One of the absolute highlights was the amazing view of Mount Fuji, which we could enjoy both from our room and from the onsen. The onsen is located inside the hotel, so you don’t need to visit a public bath. The hotel is beautifully located near Lake Kawaguchi, providing picturesque scenery and easy access to local attractions by bus. The hosts were also very child-friendly—our son even received his own breakfast without any extra charge. The combination of stunning nature, traditional ambiance, and exceptional service made our stay truly unforgettable. Just be aware that the mountain roads in the area are quite narrow, and traffic jams can occur easily. It's good to plan a bit of extra time for travel!

Quiet little Ryokan in the outskirts of Hakone. Takes about 25 mins to get to the Yumoto station by bus, which comes by every 20 mins. Good onsen facilities, and the rooms are nice and spacious. The staff are welcoming and very helpful. Had a wonderful stay.

Great Hotel all around! Lack of Restaurants and grocery stores in Gora should be made more explicit in the booking post.

This small Ryokan is so peaceful and relaxing that it was a pitty to leave. It is so calm and quiet we slept hearing the sound of the rain in the pond outside our room. Maybe a little difficult to reach, consider Coffe Camp as a reference point and drive all the way untill you pass two construction sites and you're arrived.

Lovely couple running the place helped us with our bags and showed us where to go around town. Appartment was lovely and felt very traditional.

Nice and helpful staff. Modern room, All Well equipped. Love the morning walk in the garden with a cup of hot coffee, very purifying. Love the onsen! U can also get the free Yunessun on the check out day. Self service luggage storage after check out, it’s convenient. Transportation is convenient too! Bus stop just nearby. Frequent bus schedule to the train station, tourist spots and the outlet! Definitely will come back!

Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. The room was spacious. The Onsen was nice and relaxing. The owner was very kind and helped us out a lot by driving us to Gora Station at 6am when we figured out there were no taxi’s running that early.

Loved the rooms & beds, they were very comfortable. The staff were so attentive and the dinner and tea ceremony were great experiences. The location is a little rural, we didn't have a car but found it straightforward enough to get the bus around and taxi's were also available.

Staff at the reception and the restaurant was super friendly. Room was big and clean, proper blackout curtains, everything was excellent. Easy to walk with luggage from the train station. Private baths were also nice experience.

We did not expect to have such a culinary experience as this hotel, it was a journey through Tokaido, its history and culinary delights.By far the best food we had compared to the 2 other onsens we stayed at on our trip! The wine list is great with some natural wine and good champagne and sake. Thank you so much to the sommelier! The vibe of the place is super chill and absolutely love the books collection and all the nice nooks where you can relax and read! Location is great if you don t have a car, it s only a 10 min walk from the funicular which also takes you up one stopto the gondola to see mount Fuji and lake Ashi. This place is a must try if you go to Hakone!

A small 21 room boutique hotel that Matic city looks after it’s guests. We are extremely comfortable and the location is great for exploring the area.

Everything about Fufu Hakone is quality, you feel looked and able to relax. The food and the staff really makes the difference from other places in the area.
