The tea house is pure magic. The architecture of the building and its surroundings were indeed, as promised, straight out of another world. A Japan one dreams of. We are so grateful to our generous hosts for making our short (too short!) time extra special and being so welcoming helping us discover the charms of Hikosan. The area is so beautiful and so full of history it truly enchanted us and the manner is a special place with its own rich history and undeniable charm. The comfort and amenities of this big house itself are also more than you need with attention given to each detail, and modern solutions respectful of historical building they inhabit (the tea house, the traditional sitting area, the garden, the wooden bath, the modern kitchen!). If you're visiting the region, this is the one.

We came for the location and beautiful view that can be seen from the hotel. Sadly the view was complete fog for 90% of our stay. Otherwise the room was comfortable and spacious. We didn’t spend very long at this accommodation to truly rate all of its amenities accurately including the baths or cafe as we didn’t get to use them. This is no fault of the hotel itself and simply due to our time constraints for travel reasons.

Staff gave us a good suggestion of a hot spring site nearby. We drove there for a few minutes only.The charge is cheap (700 Yen) and a lot of local citizens are using this hot spring. It was an excellent experience. In addition, staff had a quick reply to the inquiry at the pre-admission stage.
