Beautifully done hotel, the staff were outstanding, so friendly and could not try harder to please. The rooms were so clean and professionally laid out with frequent room service if required. Great location on the beach. Restaurant food was varied and really good at a decent price, no need to venture out.

    Hikkaduwa has fabulous beaches but when we stayed in March...

    Hikkaduwa has fabulous beaches but when we stayed in March the flags were up for no swimming as the waves were so big. This was not a problem for us as we did not want to swim particularly but people that want to snorkeor have young children that want to swim may be disappointed. Great to be close to Galle but be in a quieter location. Aboit 20 mins by car. Lots of little bars and places to eat along the beach. Beaches are quiet and less full of tourist than Galle. There are quite a few stray dogs (everywhere in Sri Lanka) which don't bother you but do be mindful that they may go to the toilet on the beach so watch where you tread!!!

    The water temp was nice, waves for surfing & plenty of shops & restaurants to choose from. Close proximity to Galle by bus & snorkelling at ant of the beaches to see colourful fish + turtles.

    I was away for 44 nights in the sun.

    I was away for 44 nights in the sun. Swimming reading away from a cold winter. What else can you ask for. Got good food good people. Beautiful beaches, so many beautiful things to see. Fish everywhere, sharks ( baby ones) turtles. Elephants safari the place is awesome.

    Hikkaduwa is one of the best places to stay few days at the southeast coast of Sri Lanka. Very nice,clean beach with fine golden sand,many guest houses and hotels,restaurants. Easy to reach nearby historic Galle town by bus or train-ca 1/2hour, Bamian Buddha Statue/Tsunami museum in Peraliya or Seenigama Buddish/HinduTemple few hundred meters away.

    Lovely laidback beach hotel on a beautiful long bay, an ideal first stop on my Sri Lanka tour for post-flight relaxation. The room was comfortable and clean with a secluded veranda overlooking the garden. Attentive, friendly staff and the wide selection of books and games elevated the stay above my expectations. I highly recommend dining in - their restaurant, Olin's, has the best food in the area. Happy Hour cocktails at Roshan's bar were another culinary highlight!

    The hotel is located right on the beach, not far from Galle, and from the rooms you can have a panoramic view of the vast beach in Hikkaduwa. The rooms are spacious and equipped with smart home appliances, a kitchen, an oven, tableware, and all the necessary facilities. The food served at the hotel is particularly outstanding and delicious! It was the best meal I've ever had in Sri Lanka! The hotel staff are very friendly! We had a great time in Hikkaduwa!

    The hotel is well situated and the staff are wonderful and make you feel at home, nothing is too much trouble. Food is delicious. This was my first trip to Sri Lanka and my first destination. I booked the hotel car to pick my up from the airport which was excellent as it’s almost 2 hours so knowing the car was there was perfect. Highly recommend the Lucky Elephant for your Hikkaduwa stay.
