It is a paradise. Everything is so pretty. There are so many details everywhere. The place is so calm and clean, the music and the smell is so relaxing. The staff is so nice, specially Majda and Zacharie, who made our stay better. The spa is perfect, I would definitely recommend, Maria and Maja did the hammam and the massage, they have wonderful hands.

We are couple and came from Hongkong. The first day of arrival was at 0830 a.m. was a pouring-rain one, we got wet thoroughly. We met our house keeper Fufu who allowed us an early checkin. We thanked him for his empathetic and flexible approach. We spent four days in this clean, cozy and full of African vibe Riad, plus rich breakfasts, we have no regrets! Also thank the Riad owner for his enthusiastic and kind hospitality to us. We love this Riad, and all its staff (of course including the housekeeping young lady!). We will definitely re-visit there! FAQs about hotels in Fès

Exotic Arabic Maze

Fès is a kaleidoscope of colours, smells and sensations, and its intricate urban design is an allegory of its own identity. Live up to the pace of this ancient Babel, and go the whole hog immerging yourself into its 1001 Nights atmosphere. Check out the Booking.com hotel deals in fascinating Fès and enjoy!

Commonly spelled Fez, this city was Morocco’s capital during Middle Ages. The city was originally composed of two separate settlements located along the banks of the Jawhar River. Madinat Fas was founded in 789 by Idris I, while Al-'Aliya was founded by his son Idris II. Both towns grew autonomously until the Almoravids unified them in 1070 under the name ‘Fas’. The city is still considered a beacon of the Islamic civilisation, due to its ancient ‘madrasas’ Islamic colleges.

The Old Town or ‘medina’ has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, representing one of the best preserved historic centres in the world. The famous ‘riads’ or small traditional hotels are located in the medina, which is also called Fes Al-Bali.

The city can be reached through Fès Saïss Airport, or from the airports in Casablanca and Rabat via railway or bus connection. Whether you’re looking for a luxury hotel in Fez New Town or a historic ‘riad’ in the medina, don’t miss Booking.com’s wide offering!

Fes is a beautiful place ro visit with local markets., ancient Islamic buildings and tasty, delicious food and fresh juices. Most of the attractions are close to Bab Boujloud ( blue gate) to visit. The food is fresh and tasty. Buy a sim with data which helps to navigate around the area and main attractions because the streets are like a maze. Beware of FAUX guides around Bab Boujloud. They started walking around you and guide you the wrong way/ long route and charge you money so better follow through Google maps or book genuine guides.

Fez is an historic and beautiful city, the cultural capital of Morocco. We particularly enjoyed the cultural museum, which helped reinforce the information that our Riad host provided. Touring the Medina, including tanneries and other key souks was enlightening. The people were all very friendly, and not pushy in the souks. We felt very welcomed and fortunate to learn so much about Moroccan culture!

The old medina is charming, but a guide is necessary to help navigate it. Restaurants are okay it's better to eat the traditional dishes in the riad where you stay if a cook is provided. Summer is very hot on Fes it's easier to use a car to explore the different gates if the medina.

There was no good support from the staff.

There was no good support from the staff. They were not available to any support. AC was not working. They don’t provide breakfast as promised. They don’t book taxi as promised. Not even there to support. For them watching match is important than answering customers. I don’t suggest anyone to stay here. Riad is good but not the support staff. You feel left out.

Ultimately we decided that our 4 nights were good. There isn't that much to do and see in Fes, but 4 nights allowed us to absorb the vibe of this ancient city. The restaurants and cafes provide very good food at a reasonable price.

Once you know your way around the Medina it is a real experience to savour. There are many cafes for refreshments and meals, it is inexpensive. Outside the Medina walls there is a modern-looking city which could be anywhere with designer shops and large hotels. For an authentic Moroccan stay, pick the Riad dar Salma.

Our stay at Dar alhaja rahma was perfect. The room was cozy and the bed was super comfortable! We had the best sleep in our whole trip in Morocco! Kamal was super helpful and kind. When we arrived he gave us a nice overview of the medina and offered us a private guide tour, which we highly recommend!! The sunny terrace is majestic. It has a beautiful view of the Medina and it’s a great place to relax and have the delicious breakfast offered. Overall we would highly recommend. We had a beautiful experience in Fes. Thank you again Kamal!

If I ever have the chance to visit Fes one more time, I would stay at this Dar again. It is incredibly beautiful, authentic, and in a great location within the medina. The biggest advantage is the amazing terrace where breakfast and dinner are served. It is absolutely stunning! Additionally, they prepare fantastic food, so don't hesitate to have dinner at Dar Lantana – the most delicious food in Morocco. Many thanks to Catherine, who was an exceptionally attentive and gracious host!

We were very impressed by the manner, professionalism and courtesy of all the staff. Breakfast on the delightful terrace was very enjoyable and plentiful. All in all it was a very enjoyable stay. The reception area and downstairs are beautifully decorated and furnished. In Morocco we would advise every traveller to book a Riad over a hotel as they are far more personable, mostly family run and offer much greater service to their customers than big hotels.

Just wow! The most beautiful riad which we met during our trip in Morocco. Staff was so kind and helpful. We got all needed information about the medina and locations of main streets, attractions and areas of Fes. Also we received the breakfast with us at 4:30 AM as we had very early train to Marrakech and we really appreciate it. Thank you for the hospitality!

This hotel is in a great location for the the Fes Medinah in an alley off one of the main 'roads' near the blue gate. The building is very attractive inside, the host was friendly, and the roof terrace for breakfast was excellent. My room was very large and comfortable.
