Tivat, a charming coastal town nestled in the beautiful country of Montenegro, is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the picturesque views of the sparkling Adriatic Sea and the lush green mountains that surround the town.
One of the highlights of Tivat is Porto Montenegro, a luxury yacht marina that exudes elegance and sophistication. Strolling along the waterfront promenade, lined with trendy cafes and upscale boutiques, was a delightful experience. The marina also boasts an impressive collection of superyachts that add a touch of glamour to the town.
Tivat is not just about luxury, it also has a rich cultural heritage that is worth exploring. The town is dotted with historic churches, museums, and old stone buildings that provide a glimpse into its past. Walking through the narrow cobblestone streets of the old town, I felt like I had stepped back in time.
The local cuisine in Tivat is a gastronomic delight, with fresh seafood being a highlight. I savored delicious seafood dishes at waterfront restaurants while enjoying the stunning sunset views over the bay. The culinary scene in Tivat is a blend of Mediterranean and Montenegrin flavors that will surely satisfy any food enthusiast.
Overall, Tivat exceeded my expectations with its natural beauty, cultural attractions, and warm hospitality. Whether you are a luxury traveler seeking high-end experiences or a cultural enthusiast looking to explore a lesser-known destination, Tivat has something to offer everyone. I highly recommend adding Tivat to your travel itinerary for a memorable vacation experience.

The only attraction in Tivat is Porto Montenegro.
The only attraction in Tivat is Porto Montenegro.
The rest can be done in 1 hour.
Good (and reasonable) place to have dinner is the Blue Room. It's kind of a sports bar, but it has an outstanding Indian restaurant.
Otherwise, the rest is typical upper class fare of relatively good quality at expected overrated prices.
One exception, the Maya Bay restaurant in the Regent, which is very good and priced accordingly but worthwhile.

Tivat is beautiful. Lovely seafront and spotlessly clean. There is the upmarket bit with designer shops and the area where locals live. We are from the UK and it is a lot cheaper than at home. Go to the places where the locals go. It is a friendly place. We met lots of great local people. Three top tips. 1. Sunbeds are expensive €30 a day for two. We bought an umbrella and padded beach mats for that at the China shop and used the public beach. 2. Buy a local SIM. Much much cheaper than UK providers. For 500GB €10 - 7 days, €15 for 15 days. €20 for 1TB for 30 days. 3. Taxis- barter ( which I hate) most are happy to agree a mutually decent price and are unhappy with tourists being ripped off. Some while try to take your eyes out. Traffic is dreadful in the summer.
Finally go to Sirena bar. €2-30 for a large local beer and lush staff. Also the cable car is great. Book online and no queues.

Very dirty beach, there wasn’t any toilet facilities and shower at the beach that’s why people poop in the water, we couldn’t enjoy the beach and we went to Croatia for swimming in the beaches. People aren’t friendly to tourists in Montenegro whenever we talk to them they act rude. We hadn’t good experiences in this city and country we will never go back there.

Tivat is generally a laid back place. We stayed in Lepetani. It offers a relaxing environment and a fascinating sea view. I recommend having a car or renting one locally to go around Tivat. I would definitely make Tivat as my base on my next visit to Montenegro.
The staff are without a doubt the highlight. The hotel is, all things considered, very good. It’s dated, no question, but it has charme. Certainly more than the ritzy part of Porto Montenegro. It is usually very affordable, Upgrades are the norm unless the hotel is booked out and the location is top notch. Whoever does not get enough at breakfast, has to, again, go to one of the much more expensive places and pay triple for very little more in terms of choice.
Nice and clean apartment in a quiet area. Friendly and helpful hosts. Short walking distance to Porto Montenegro and Tivat city center. Nice beaches and good restaurants nearby in the Seljanovo area. We especially liked Big Ben, Ponta Veranda and Soul pizza studio.
The view is just amazing. Rooms are clean and nice. Very friendly staff.. For us it was within walking distance to Porto Montenegro.. we celebrated our wedding anniversary and Eco Hotel Carrubba was totally a right decision for us.
The staff of the whole hotel is perfect, always smiling and ready to help. Beautiful location in the heart of Porto Montenegro, quality wifi, good restaurants, comfortable and well-equipped room.
Apartment spacious and clean with little balcony. Excellent value for money. Very close to Porto Montenegro and Tivat town. Bus stop to Kotor nearby. Friendly hosts.
