Colorful property.
The pool was nice.
The grounds were clean.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The room we got was a lil odd...the bed was on a platform. It has a TV but no cable and no mention of that till we got there. It was okay for day 1, maybe day 2, but by day 3, I needed news updates!!
The location was inconvenient ... Not much to do in the area for tourists.
Hotel Plaza Cozumel offers an excellent panoramic view of the island and Cozumel's sea channel. Walk a few steps and visit the Cozumel Museum, the Main Square and Ferry Pier in front of us.

The staff at Hotel Cozumel are amazing! Everyone from the front staff to the cleaning people to the kitchen help are so friendly & helpful.
The breakfasts are delicious & filling. They bring juice or coffee, fruit, a basket with breads/ pastries, and then you order off a small menu.
We did not use the rooftop pool this time but have in the past and it is great.
The rooms are all 2 double beds. They can't be put together as they have cement bases, but they are firm & comfortable. That is the only thing we wish was different. That they would have queen or king rooms.
The location is excellent. Walking to restaurants & shopping.

My wife and I have been traveling and diving in Cozumel for over 20 years. If you dive, you know. If you don;t dive but are interested in learning, then this is the place for you to do it! Is there more to do than diving? Yes, in abundance! Birding, Nature walks, Mayan temples? Yes. Fantastic vistas? Yes. Friendly and accomadating folks? Sure!
Will you face intense hawking from a myriad of vendors? Yes. Great resturants? In great number! Ask how much to a destination before you get in a taxi. They are numerous and safe.

Simply put, Cozumel is for divers (or snorkelers).
Simply put, Cozumel is for divers (or snorkelers). It is one of the best dive destinations in the Caribbean. We've been visiting since 1981 (long before the cruise ships made it a regular, which I consider unfortunate because the cruise ship zone of San Miguel is indistinguishable for your typical cruise ship zone anywhere else, and has caused prices to be higher.)
If you're not a diver and just want to fiesta, Cancun is the place. The Mexican Riviera now stretches from Cancun to Tulum and has a number of all-inclusive resorts.

We had a fabulous time at Casa Del Mar and the surrounding amenities at the property.......pool, restaurant, lush grounds, beach nearby, etc. Our family had a reunion and many of us stayed at Casa Del Mar. The rooms were spacious, clean and ice-cold AC!
Many restaurants near the property within walking distance or a short taxi ride. We enjoyed the beach at the Monet Bar Beach Club. Great snorkeling, shore dives and tasty food. Lots of umbrellas and outdoor furniture to enjoy.

This is definitely a place to scuba dive - drift diving.
This is definitely a place to scuba dive - drift diving. I had only dove a few times before & got 15 dives while there including a night dive. This was just before a hurricane so could have been better weather but that is on me.
There are not really beaches to enjoy. Some of the hotels on the water have access to that water so you can get in and shore dive or snorkel but not a lot of beach (in the main area of the island.)
Lots of restaurants - I am vegan and had no problem finding food.
People are very friendly & not once did I feel uncomfortable (and I am a single woman who walked all over the place.)
The taxis are easy to flag down & inexpensive but some will try to get you so just be aware of the general fees.

K'ooben Laab You must eat there!!!
K'ooben Laab You must eat there!!! All their food is good and the one thing I regret was not trying their special until the last night. (Yes 4 meals there). Kondesa is another must experience. Great food, ambience, and live music. We did Buccanos for the day beach resort. Entry fee is applied to bar/food bill. Cozumel Sailing out of the north marina. They will give you a great day on the water. If the wind is good they'll get you a spinnaker ride! Check it out! The snorkeling is great! Easy to get around Island if you rent a vehicle or the Taxi's are easy and plentiful. Drivers are very nice and very helpful.

We stayed at the Barracuda twice. Once two weeks prior.
We stayed at the Barracuda twice. Once two weeks prior. This time it was because our booking at another resort was mishandled. I knew we would have just as a good, or better time if we spent the last 5 days at the Barracuda. We did. We enjoy being close to downtown for shopping and especially eating. We have two friends on the island that make for having a great time. This time we rented for one day a dune buggy. I went parasailing, my wife, snorkeling. We enjoy resting and taking int eh beach area of the Barracuda and the No Name Bar. As one staying there we received a 50% off our drinks and food if we paid cash (we did). Credit card still got you a 35% off. It was wonderful. When back in Cozumel, we will stay there from 1 to 4 nights anytime.

The location was perfect, it is quiet but close to the shops and to the ferry. It's clean and quiet accomodation. We hired scooter and we booked snorkelling through the hotel and it was perfect! The communication was excellent. Its a perfect place to stay in Cozumel.Highly recommended.
Beautiful hotel with really nice beach. Food quality in main restaurant could be improved. Mixed service in main restaurant during breakfast. Overall quite expensive food for Mexico so quality needs to be matched with price.. But overall beautiful resort.
Only available hotel in Cozumel during our travels. What you see on the pictures is what you get. There is an AC and fan in the room. We had a complain about another guest and the staff picked this up.
This hotel is located right on the beach, and it really is a lovely hotel. The all-inclusive food and drinks were great, and the hotel is decently located is not too far from downtown.
The hotel has a snorkeling spot right in front. It is also a bit further away from the busy area of Cozumel. However, restaurants and supermarkets are still in walking distance.
